    Celtic underground twitter is stating that Celtic have sold the rights to the name of the stadium for £5 million per annum.

    Obviously only a rumour, but what are our thoughts one this?

    "Naming rights to Celtic Park rumoured to have been sold. £5 Million a year for next 5 years. Hence Johnstone's comment at hun agm. 37 minutes ago from web"

    My personal view is that we should grab it with both hands wide open. We could do so much with this massive injection of hard cash.

    As much as i'd rather NOT see it happening, we might have to do it, if only for the next few years until something else comes our way.

    As long as it's no something * like " The Hob-* stadium " or something.

    we need to keep it dignified if possible

    Whoring out the stadium name like Newcastle did would only stain Celtic's reputation. Unless its ridiculous money, it shouldnt even make a board meeting.

    i agree with hoopy...face it..football is all about money nowadays...that money would be a welcome addition to the transfer kitty. Still parkhead/celtic park to the fans.

    Hmmm really doubt it would be £5m a season. Seems a fair bit of money.

    But in principle I don't see anything wrong with selling the names rights of the stadium. If we were really that holier than thou we would have a charity on the kit and side-boardings. We need as much leverage against the other top 16 sides in Europe as we can get and therefore I would snap the hand off anything in the region of a couple of million a year.

    Anyway, who looks at Arsenal and go - "Hah! Sell-outs!"?
