Robbie Keane rumours resurface..., would u want him?

I'd love this too happen but I like most others think this is just one of those rumours that will pop up every window until the guy retires.

Isn't it time for Henrik to come out of retirement and re-sign?

Keano is struggling to get a game at spurs! he didnt even get played for the last 5 minutes or so against everton.

 

There's no doubt he doesn't feature highly in 'Arrys plans. He wants Crouch/Defoe to play for him up there and Keane is being pushed out wide when he is playing. This doesn't suit Keane and is one of the main reason behind him leaving Liverpool. But.. he wont come unless it's funded by Desmond and to be honest, I don't want that to happen. Imagine the feeling around the club that one player is so much better than the rest that it's taking someone to personally finance his wages? Wouldn't work, wouldn't want it.

When Larsson etc were earning a lot of money, they deserved it. Larsson deserved his contract, Hartson and Sutton were also class and deserved their money. To suggest Keane deserves this sort of money is a bit far fetched tbh. So I don't think it will happen for those reasons and more.

If he really wants to play for Celtic, now is the time in his career to do it, but he must be willing to accept that if he is to come and play for Celtic then he must accept what Celtic are willing to offer. Don't get me wrong, I'd agree to giving him the maximum the board are willing to pay, but I wouldn't want him being funded by Desmond.

this has now become boreing as *! we cannot afford him ffs lads! if he was to come ? where the * is the wages comming from for him? i would jump through hoops if he did come 100% i would! but there is no way we can afford him and besides! would he want to leave the epl for the spl?

I like everyone else would love this to happen but I just don't see anything in it.

 

The same as Darren Huckerby. I rmember him being linked with us from about 1998 til 2006ish

 

gee celtic linked to a irish player who playes in the epl and has supported celtic since before he was born.......he might sign when he hits 35....before then celtic cant afford the wages........Imo celtic will stick with....10-15k a week players

 

Celtic should be putting a serious bid in for him, they owe it to the fans!!

Keane is still at his prime and we would have no chance on this earth of buying a player of keanes class. I don't see him being a gamble either, it has to be a win win situation.

The money generated from match tickets and merchandise would cover a portion of his wages, and i am sure he would not be looking for 80g a week off celtic. We got most of the high earners off the wage bill so there must be something to play with, especially if we get rid of half of the dead wood at parkhead.

The guy oozes class and i think he would jump at the chance of winning titles and playing in the champions league with his boyhood heroes.

Mobray, get on your hands and knees and beg dermot to open his wallet!!

 

lets hope its not another roy keane, always wanting to play for celtic yet came to the club when he was basically over the hill, if keane is genuine and wants to com to celtic and celtic are willing to pay the dosh then he should come sooner rather than later, come to play for your team not just to get one last big pay packet

forget buying him couldnt afford to give him a contract never mind pay a transfer fee but surely we could finance a loan deal to the end of the season to secure the title and champs lge cash that goes with it
