Does anybody else feel that we are facing a sustained challenge from the East for the title this year ?

Rangers as ever will always be there, but with Hibs now level on points with Rangers, and going extremely well under their new boss John 'Yogi ' Hughes, and Dundee United snapping at their heels only a further two points away under the clever Craig Levein, could it be possible that we are facing another Burley like challenge, when he almost took Hearts to the title a few years back

Rangers. Hibs look like they'll be there to pounce on any mistakes though!

    Erm .. naw.

As soon as Hibs get a couple of injuries or suspensions to key players, they will fall away, simple as that.

Hibs are doing really well this season & United always lift there game & give the Old Firm a hard time of it, but I still reckon its Rangers that are our main Challangers, maybe if they looze a few first team players in the Jan Window, you may say Hibs, but Im not sure by the time it comes to say March-April time the business end if you like, Im not sure by then if Hibs can keep it up, It would be great if they could, make for an exciting title race (As long as we win it) & would be great if the Old Firm were split up & Hibs came 2nd, Spose you could argue the fact that in 2006' Hearts finished 2nd so spose it can be done, but I just think for this season anyway, Rangers have enough in there locker to pip Hibs to finish 2nd, next season tho? Hmm.. Could be a different story, depending on who leaves & comes in at Rangers & of course how we will perform in the Transfer window aswel, We shouldn't be afraid to go out & improve our squad, It wouldn't bother me if we won the League at a canter, infact that would give us more pleasure I think..

I copy n pasted this from scottish football forum and ill stick by it ,,if teams were willing to spend they would have a great chance to do damage.

    Quote kennydal.

I would like more competion in the league but only after Celtic sorted themselves out ,this is only my opinion but ie ,if i were the Hibs chairman if possible i would give the manager 3 million pounds in January simply because they are in with a shout if they spent wisely and with Celtic not doing so good but are picking up lately Hibs would give us a good run for our money.

Rangers, always have been, always will be. DU, Hibs, Hearts or few other teams can't hit consistency, so I can't see them doing anything more than just challenging for 3rd position.

Hibs may be the closest team to split the Old Firm, but I reckon it won't happen this season.

He left before a third of the season was even through.

Dundee United will finish third this season for me, the huns will still be our main contender and I reckon Hibs will probably stutter towards the end of the season.

Why so much hype with hibs? They have as many points as Rangers, but Dundee United are just two points behind that with a game in hand. Dundee United also have a squad with more depth, thus I believe they gunna be more able to sustain this attack on the Old Firm. Also, Dundee United haven't been beat by the Old Firm this season, whereas Hibs have. Not only that Dundee United have, in my opinion, the best manager in the league in Craig Levein. With Rangers due to become weaker after the Jan Tran's, and as mentioned here, Hibs will crumble due to lack of depth. I could see United mounting a serious title challenge. We are less consistent than them recently, so there you go!
