    McGeady has the potential to be world class.

    We all know the reason I use the world potential as imo he hasnt reached the top of his games yet. His final ball is usually * poor and occasionally lacks vision, would rather do all the work himself which 9 times of of 10 doesnt work.

    If McGeady can improve his all round game then I dont see how he couldnt just saunter into an arsenal side with ease.

    There are many, many players with potential releasing it is a whole different issue. Hartson is stating that he would walk into the Arsenal side, replacing Arshavin which is ridiculous. Lets be honest if he was anywhere near ready for that he wouldnt still be in the SPL.

    I don’t really agree that he has the potential to be world class, he has the potential to be a Celtic great but not world class! When I hear the term world class I think of players like Ronaldo, Messi etc and McGeady will never lace their boots, let's be honest! Think the best he will ever do is to get into a top half premier league team excluding the top 4!     i don't think 'potential' is the correct adjective to describe a 24 year old. he had 'potential' when he first broke into the side 5 or 6 years back. he now needs to be delivering. nobody talks about messi having 'potential' and he's 2 or 3 years younger than mcgeady...

    Messi is a special player, the kind you dont see too often.

    Imo McGeady has to leave Celtic and play at a higher level before we see the best in him. What am saying is the potential is there and has been its all about fulfilling it.

    Ye I agree that he has to leave Celtic in order for him to excel! He's not going to become a great player playing in the SPL! Just find it quite strange that hes 23 now and no one has ever made a bid for him!

    Im going to agree with Hartson, just out of badness!

    Let's face it, McGeady is the best player in a poor team, my question is how would he do with a couple more quality players round him (in the case of Arsenal ten)?

    Think about it he wouldn't be under as much pressure and he would be getting world class support!

    The reason I reckon he could take Arshavins place is because he has 5/6 years on Arshavin, who isn't quite as fast as McGeady, but we'll never know, Arsenal won't sign him!

    well, if we're going to get pedantic about it mcgeady is precisely 14.5 mths older than messi but the point is that nobody talks about his potential - he delivers on the big stage. ronaldo won the ballon d'or when he was mcgeady's age.

    I dont believe McGeady will be with us much longer he will be sold when celtic are ready to cash in.

    Good players play better when they have good players around them.

    You seen that with mcgeady during the match with arsenal he was creating things but no one was on the same wave length and you saw the frustration. He was the only player that could match any of arsenals stars.

    Badness more like madness. What you have to think using that logic is how would Arshavin fair in McGeadys place? I think he would look a million miles better than McGeady. Arshavins speed really doesnt matter he beats players easily, and then bangs in goals from all over the place with both feet. He would be scoring for fun against SPL defenders.
