    Thursday 22/10/2009 @ Celtic Park.

    Kick off is 20:05

A game we've got to win if we're to have any chance of progressing from the group stages of the Europa League. However, I'm not confident at all.

Its all or bust against the Germans, after being at the game against Motherwell, im not confident we can beat Hamburg, we dont have any fire-power, we are slow in defence, we have a lack of height in midfrield and we cant pass aswell as we would like.

i live part of the year in germany and see a lot of bundesliga games. last season hamburg were going for the treble until very late in the season and basically just ran out of steam fighting on 3 fronts and ended up with nothing - lost in the semi final of the uefa cup (after winning the first (away) leg) and german cup (both to werder) and ended up only making the uefa cup in the league after leading with a few games to go. without doubt they are way better than celtic and we'll get thumped at their place but the one small glimmer of hope is that of the top german teams they aren't great on the road so we should get something out the glasgow game and with favouring winds i don't think a narrow win is totally out the question.

Honestly going on our current form I can only see one winner here 2-0 to Hamburg hope im wrong.

Going on current form then I'm not optimistic, however, due to the amount of injuries they have I'm hoping we can take advantage.

Nothing less than a win will do but it won't be easy, I fear the worst but hope for the best.

Hopefully Hinkel and Fox will be back and Brown will be dropped.

    id love to see...

    Boruc

    Hinkel Loovens McManus Fox

    McGeady Robson N'Guemo Maloney

    Zhi

    Samaras

i think with that team we would take full advantage of there injury problems.

as Danni said, going on current form im no way what so ever optimistic but if we see that line up there may be a glimour of hope :50:

ZZ is not allowed to play in europe for us.
as i said in another thread, i think we can beat them. 2 things from my point of view will be vital in this match, 1st we´ll need to stand solid at the back and be patient don´t let them counter on us and 2ndly our strikers and midfielders will have to stand on their feet as much as they can and press them to prvent them to play it their ways.
now that basically their whole attack is out, they rely more than ever on their playmakers in the centre, elija, pitroipa, trochowski and ze roberto.
i guess they´ll play berg upfront, eventho he hasn´t really got into the scoring for them, i think he does have the abillity to.
i think they will score, so i´m goin for a narrow 2:1 for us (here´s hoping) :shamrock:

Hopefully we get a better turnout than we did for the Vienna game - we need an atmosphere like Arsenal on Thursday.

Hamburg are a quality side - if they score 1st we're * IMO.

I must be honest, it,s a difficult one to call, I would rather just get back on track in the league and bring that home,
