[PC] FM 10 General Chat

Just installed another 2GB of memory.

Currently researching what would be a good choice for virtual memory and reducing the appropriated memory by the bios.

What once was a slightly sluggish game is now very smooooooth :icon_mrgreen:

This RAM is making a huge difference to performance!

 

Dempsey that excel file is * awesome!! Got my backroom sorted by using it's calculations and every training group is now 4* except goalkeeping which is 4.5! Well happy with that and once i can lure better staff I'll be very excited. :icon_mrgreen:

 

Its rare to have all categories completely 5 star, 4 star is still really good coaching I reckon getting all 4.5 star over a extended period of time would be difficult also

e.g. I signed a 5 star fitness coach from france, his adaptability was 5 and after a month in the game, his coaching ability went back to 4.5 star. There can be factors that will change a coaches attributes etc most likely lowering them.

Only Neil Lennons stats have improved for me, Moniz stats have dropped for some reason aswell

 

I've employed moniz aswel, he's a fantastic coach. Yeah mine are all 4* with exception of the goalie which is 4.5 i'll let you know after a season or so if they drop or improve and will provide a list of staff i used ect

One thing that's annoying me here though, fantastic first season winning the Europa league, Scottish cup and the spl (only missing out on the super cup/start of the next season and the league cup) all with the staff stats you had seen me post earlier,and now with a vastly improved set up i'm struggling lol

I mean i'm winning matches but it seems with far more effort and it just doesn't feel right. For continuality i use the same team as last year with the same back up players using the same training regimes/formations and tactics.

All my players fill there role with a bright green light and there movement mirrors as TTL as possible yet something is off.. Possibly the training is to heavy?

Got any advice as to why my winning formula from last year has taken a hit? I think the games forcing me into a complete overhaul of all my first team tactics.

 

Moniz is a classic coach to sign :icon_mrgreen: Got him all the time in the last game. Another problem as a medium sized club I've found is the top clubs are more eager to poach coaches this year round. Might just be my current game though, I can only offer £2.6k/week for my "coaches" and around 5k/week for assistant managers so it is difficult for me to keep them at this stage.



@Dempsey - on another note! We spoke about me getting more RAM - DDR400 to be precised. Where would one buy RAM as it's coming up for about £30 on ebay which I might just say no to! Thinking about a new PC in the next few months anyway, depending on a few things. £30 sound right for 1 gig tho?

 

Dempsey can you or have you sticked the excel file? I wouldn't mind having a look at it as I'm sacking/letting most of the contracts run out for coaches and will be hiring a new backroom team in the close season. I'm getting pretty frustrated with training I keep getting told we're not as fit as other teams which is annoying me.

I can't get Moniz on board the club won't allow me to offer more wages and he's always coming out and saying how much he wants to join me, arghhh!

I * slapped Mcmanus out of the team after consistent performances of 4.5 and Caldwell is a * damned nightmare at the back, Mr anonymous, gave away a penalty and scored an OG for man utd at Old Trafford, went all the way to penalties which I won - Boruc scored the 5th and saved O'shea's to send me through :icon_mrgreen:

Jelle Van Damme - feckin rock solid at the back, needs to be as Suchy is having a mare along with Caldwell, I picked up McGowan from Hearts as I need HG players

Wasiluk - Polish lad plays DL/C WB/L picked him up for much cheapness and I usually play him WB/L as he's better than Fox and Misun, although Misun is coming along nicely, currently playing CB for me due to other players ineptness at the back.

Listig - seen his name bounce around on here and bought him when Hinkel broke his leg against Juventus (out for the season and more no doubt) Wilson just doesn't cut it in WB/R position.

Vormer - Dutch u21 Captain, fans were creaming themselves when I signed him and he does and excellent job as a defensive DMC, got shot of N'Guemo when this lad took his place in the team/

Di Santos - Argie lad from Chelsea, took him on loan after I punted McDonald out on loan and sold Samaras to Newcastle (how much grief did I get for selling him?!?), have since bought him as I had a clause to buy him for 5.25million and his value shot up after 8 games where he had scored 8 goals.

Dos Santos - Barcelona youngster, very promising player a back up to Crosas but Crosas took the right huff with me after I refused to sell him and I eventually punted him after getting tired of his moaning, great player though huffy bassa upsetting my squad. Everyone is circling Dos Santos and the media constantly unsettle him as it annoys the life out me now that he has concerns about looking elsewhere. Git.

Stancu - Bogdan Stancu, great player my top scorer this season.

 

That seems to be the going rate for 1Gb sticks

I'd check how many DIMM slots (memory slots) you have free and look up reviews of the RAM you are about to buy. Just because x is dearer than y doesnt mean its better or worth the price difference

beat 2-0 away on first game to the sheep , 1 point off the top .
munian is beast , got zigoni on loan from ac milan , rafael as a cb from valenciennes , garrido as left back for 2.1 million . got shaktar partizan belgrade and sturm graz in the europa league

 

What do you do once you download that file Dempsey ?

 

Unpack it using Winzip/WinRar then use excel to open it, if your thinking about signing backroom staff then put their details into the relevant spaces in the spreadsheet to see what star rating that person could be with regards to training.

Very handy tool, cheers Dempsey been going over that for over an hour now plugging stats into it to get the best backroom staff!

Half an hour in I thought I was screwed lol.

I sold Van Der Vaart before the season for 7.5m to Spurs. Which also meant I also cleared over 60k per week worth in wages. A very good deal for a player, who'd turn 32 during the season. He's yet to make an appearance for Spurs and it's December already.

I signed Feghouli as his replacement and he's doing really well and is paid almost twice less as VDV.

 

The result means I win my CL group, Celtic finished a point behind Sporting in third.

if anyone is looking for a great forward sign kleber from cruzeiro he scored 40 goals in the league itself and won the golden boot on his first season almost forgot set him as your penalty taker your staff wont like it but hes only missed one for me

 

For those of you who had any previous fm's :
You know when you shortlist a player and another club made a bid for him it would always come up in your inbox by saying e.g : " PSV made a bid for McFadden ".
How come in FM10 it doesn't do this? Is there a way to do it or what?
