Big Sammy has stated he wants to spend the rest of his career at Celtic.
I would love the big man to sign a new long term contract :icon_mrgreen:
Cos after the summer he only has another year to run. & I know theres alot of people on here that don't like Sammy, but he does work for the team, & is argubly our best striker, people will argue its McDonald cos he scores most of our goals, but Sammy does all the work, of running the flanks, linking up the midfield, winning flicks ons & holding the ball up, & takes his fair share of goals aswel, whats his goal ratio again? 1 in 2 is it? Come on how can you argue with that? Tis def a player we should be keeping, & I think Mowbray likes him aswel, he likes his technical players & Sammy falls into that category, hes very mobile for such a tall player, with a good turn of pace aswel, so for me get him signed up ASAP :icon_mrgreen:

Greek striker Georgios Samaras wants to remain at Celtic for the rest of his career. (Various)

TM may or may not like him as a player but the fact is that when Fortune is back he will be back on the bench and I don't know if Sammy will be happy to be a bit part player!

I like Sammy but it's his inconsistency that's a problem for me he needs to start scoring consistently, not alternating between good and bad performances week in week out.

Met him twice and he's an absolute gent. Would love to see him hit a consistent run of good form like he had at the start of last season. On that form, he could end up being top goalscorer.

I like sammy but hes too casual the way he goes about his stuff on the park, he tries to turn his play into a work of art, floating about and trying to place the ball into the bottom corner of the net, off the ball he reminds me of berbatov, but on it he reminds me of a ballet dancer. Once he sorts that part of his game out then he will be a superb player for us, hes still only 23.

So many good points to his game but a few niggling issues that seem to grate on the Parkhead support unproportionally.

For example his goalscoring thus far has been comparable to McDonald. When "out" of a game, Samaras does more work to get back in. So while both players are fairly at least comparable Samaras gets a * of a lot more stick for some reason.

Samaras and Ibrahimovic do actually have similar styles of play. I'm not for a second saying that Samaras is a patch on Zlatan but thy do play in th same way. I'd love Samaras to play for Celtic for ages. I really rate him and at times he is easily the best player in our team, although sometimes he is frustratingly mediocre.

I think mowbray should have a little clause in his contract that states; "To keep the parkhead faithfull off my back, i agree to shave my head & gain 2 stone in weight." He just might get a fair deal then ha ha haaa :50:

i agree with the floating about nancy stuff. i find him very frustrating when he tries to walk it into the net, id rather he put his whole body behind a shot and burst the back of the net!

but as hes still young, hes got a long way to go however, id be happy for him to sign on.

Surely then he would become as mobile as Jimmy Vinegar.

I think we should be looking for better than Samaras if we want to improve over the next 10 years. If his game improves and he adds more goals then maybe he can justify a long contract but just now I don't think he's done anywhere near enough. Surely soon we should have young strikers of our own coming through that could rival his ability?

I think he's better than that TBF .mabye every 3-4 and it is difficult when your in and out of the team every week and only getting sub appearances .

Well he does say he goes away & analyzes how he played, & even in his best games, still picks out bits he could've done better. I think Sammy's attitude is spot on, & by the sounds of it, he is his biggest critic, so what Coaches, fans or media says wont come close to how hard he is on himself, so you cant argue with that, he wants to play well for Celtic & Greece, & for me he does that, & you can tell he loves it at Celtic, & I think thats a good thing, Ive said it before yes im abit bias as he is my fav player, but he is technically our best striker & I dont see why he cant win himself a new long term contract, have him for another few years would be great :icon_mrgreen:

He has to better his ball control and his first touch is more than often too heavy. We know he as an eye for goal but he has to improve his all round game then we will talk :icon_mrgreen:

His first touch is much better than skippys (mind you that wouldn't exactly be hard).

Agree he has to improve, he needs to find that consistency he had at the start of last season.
