first of all there's nothing worse than losing an old frm game, but today i actually came away from it feeling a bit more confident that TM will become a successful manager for us.

two defenders were at fault for the goals as it was plain to see that that sorry excuse for a player kenny miller's goals were not due to great play, infact, it wasn't even great play for an amatuer side.

we absolutely controlled this game and had maloney and mcdonald shown some striking quality we would've had a few goals.

i'm not saying this as a biased celtic fan but i actually thought our penalty tally should've been 4. first two obvious ones, then maloney's and wilson's booking when looked at closely were both clipped.

another thing that gives me confidence is that the players he's brought in look very accomplished on the ball. i see this as a sign that that's the type of player we'll see in the forthcoming transfer windows.

rangers again looked very poor and i can see them dropping points in the following weeks as they've to play the top SPL sides.

i'm normally very critical after a defeat, but for once i couldn't fault the team bar the two defenders.

i agree with you although i think we only should have got 2 pens and on another day maloney would have scored in thw 1st minute and that great chance although i think rangers can and will get much better

thought wilson dived to be honest. the other three including the one we got were stonewallers though. also am i looking at it through green tinted glasses or was millers second goal a foul on loovens? don't get me wrong loovens is at fault either way and even if as i thought miller jumped into the big man rather than went for the ball loovens should, change that to has to, be strong enough to still win the ball but i genuinely thought it was a foul.
regarding mowbray i agree though i am a bit concerned with his substitutions. thats the last few games i really haven't agreed with the changes he's made.

He has said that it will take him 2 years to get his own team, he has said he will spend. The aim is to do as well as we can with the current squad and give him time. It is frustrating having lost to that calibre of team though.

Unfortunately, in Scotland, you don't get 2 years to perfect your ideal team. If TM thinks this is a realistic option, then WBA beckon again! He has a Massive job to turn things around and get rid of all the * players that haunt CP.

Will he get the proper support from the Board???????? Doubt it.

They are more interested in personal profit than Celtic.

I can't decide of Mowbray has had a better start than Strachan did. But I guess that's beside the point. I shall now officially refrain from any judgement on the man until at least the close of the season, and I recommend the rest of you do likewise. At this club it's about the trophies, give him a chance to blag a few.

TBH I thought the Zheng penalty was the least likely of the 3 but I guess they had to give something. What do you do when the Huns play a 6-3-1 formation anyway (or even 7-2-1) it's ok, championships aren't won in October - let the dancing monkeys have their fun...a huns fan I teach (one of the few that actually understands the sport) won't gloat at me because as he regularly says "this rangers team are *"

Tony Mowbray is doing absolutely nothing wrong. It's the players that are letting us down.

i thought yesterday was a stick on win for us when i seen their line up, ok we were missin fox and hinkel but when i seen your man little starting i knew shaun was gonna tear him a new one, as was shown in the first minute he wouldve capitulated under the atmosphere etc and i dont think the lad was injured at all when he was takin off.. good start made and then we go and do what is the story of our season so far,,, concede an early goal!! we were denied what can only be described as 2 nailed on pens and the ref and linemen should be ashamed of themselves!! then loovens fails to overpower misser and, well, he didnt miss to make it 2, at this point i thought the game was beyond out reach with one of the worst celtic defences ive ever had the unfortunate pleasure to watch i could see more goals for the monkeys but we came back into the game and finally got the deserved penalty.. when we scored that i thought if we could just tighten up at the back and get another before half time then we would beat the * but it wasnt to be.. i thought mick, apart from the first goal had a solid enough game, loovens had an absolute shocker and i wouldve had one of the under 19's on before that donkey naylor no joke, how the fella made a pro footballer is beyond me!! wilson off the pace again maloney played well as did aiden but the stand out for me was ZZ!! thought the fella was excellent right up until he got took off, think we might have come onto a goodin there!! n'guemo was solid apart from a few stray passes, thought broonie was decent considerin hes playin through an ankle injury and mcdonald was ok, thought he shouldve done better with the chance to equalise, as for sammy, ok when hes good hes good, (how rare is that now??) but jesus christ!! somtimes ya could grab someone from the crowd and they would make a better contribution!! all in all theres farrrr too much dead wood in the team at the minute who need to be moved on, and i still think we'll win the league because apart from their two goals rankers done sweet * all!! they're *!!

    keep the faith!!

Is that right? We played a team who have been together for about 2 years now with the same manager showing them how he wants them to play. There is a slight improvement on how they were playing last year, but really, Rangers are utter pish. Two long balls, two goals, they got lucky and when they wake up today, they will know it.

They've won nothing. Bragging rights, nothing more.

If you'd said to me at the start of the season "After the first OF game at Ibrox you'll be 1 point ahead of them" I'd have taken it.

    Stop talking *.

He's had a better start in Europe as Strachan fell at the first hurdle. Mowbray has at least secured European football for us this season although I think he seems tactically naive at that level.

I see what you're saying with being more confident after the match, as I was too. If we can sort out sloppy defending, we should be able to win these matches. I would like Mowbray to set the team up to start matches more defensively. My main concern with him is the substitutions he makes. I thought Brown rather than N'Guemo should have came off and I think Zhi and Naylor should have stayed on the park.

Only literally in his first game. Mowbrays record of 4 defeats, 1 draw and 1 win in his first 6 (home record 2 fefeats and a draw in 3 games) is miles worse than what we got used to under WGS and that was mainly CL group stages not qualifiers and Europa. He seems very tactically naive at that level. Open flamboyant football doesnt win in Europe unless you are the likes of Barcelona. Most northern European teams that do OK in Europe do it through being very tight and organised.

I think the spine of our team is not better than Rangers. They have better CBs, a more settled fairly strong CM pairing (and Thompson to come back) and they even have strikers who although not the best last season looked better than our ones. We are (despite losing a genious like Naka) far better than them in terms of creative players so we look better but our spine is pretty poor. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
