Table toppers Celtic go into a match V Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday 4th October 2009, knowing that they will still be top of the league no matter what result they come out of the match with. With Rangers only winning one match in 6, and Celtic undefeated in their last 4 matches, Celtic should be looking to extend their lead at the top to 7 points.

    Kick off is 12:30

If we can't be confident going in to this old firm game when can we be confident!

Rangers haven't scored in there last 3 SPL games. I'm aware that I could jinx it but we have to be confident.

    OH THE RANGERS ARE *!

2-0 to the hoops! Lets get right in to them from the start.

I voted no, because I'm never confident going into OF games.

I think we are the better squad and therefore should win but OF games you just can't tell, they'll try and muscle us out of the game.

So not confident, but not completely pessimistic either

I know what you're saying Danni. It'll be the usual case of tackles flying in everywhere, Rangers putting 11 men behind the ball and then trying to catch us on the counter attack. Just hope we can break them down.

That's what I need to see!

I think this might be a scrappy 0-0-er which I would probably take at Ibrox. They are struggling against SPL fodder but I've seen them raise their game like first half Sevilla, so we should be wary.

We're the opposite - we've looked quite good in the SPL, but the bigger games have troubled us.

Don't worry about Europa- play for a bit of pride here- drop out b4 Xmas- then concentrate on the Winter Slog in the SPL- when the pitches start to break up that is when traditionally we struggle.
Let Mowbray focus on getting SPL back Europe is a distraction for his 1st year.

i voted yes, im always optimistic but at the same time our defence doesnt fill me with confidence. i like mikeys formation, i hope brown gets dropped he seems to be undropable though.

loovens must play, i would prefer caldwell to mcmanus myself but both at the moment are capable of losing us the game.

Plus we will beat Rangers- our finishing will be better on Sunday- miss a few ,score a few.
    2-1 Celtic.
Loovens get back in the middle oh defence!:50:
Rangers will be physical on Sunday, there will be a few bootings to McGeady ,(McCourt,McGinn if played).
Time to have Robson in the midfield.:50:

mccourt is new to the huns theyve never played him, so by my reckoning, that element of surprise could give us a cutting edge. robson looks more solid than brown, and he can deliver a ball.

Alright, this is probably in the wrong thread but i dont know how to start a new one lol, picture the scene you are playin at ibrox , With ten minutes to go a cross comes into the box at knee height ,it is only you and ANDY "I'M A HUN *" GORAM in the box , it is a 50 -50 ball ,for a split second you have to decide do i [a] shoot or clean the head of that dirty bigotted * with all might .I have to say i would have to kick the * as hard i could even if it meant drawing or losing. Any thoughts

I think that The Rapid game was a good approximation of how it will be v Ramgers. Pretty dirty with us have most of the possession and with them on the break and our dodgy defence. The only difference is the Rangers defence is a lot better than Rapids. I expect a 2-2 draw.

Not confident because although we are getting SPL results we are not playing well in SPL games since the first couple of weeks of the season.

Exactly how I seen it to mate, they were set up almost as a carbon copy of Rangers, and I do agree rangers defence is alot better, Rapids defence were pretty poor imo, we just didnt have the fire power. I think Mowbray may match them up in a 4-5-1 with maloney and Mcgeady and Mccourt playing but you never know really do you.

IMHO its a game about two struggling teams,,,both defences suck,,,and both sets of strikers are struggling theirs more than ours,,,I voted no,,due to witnessing our poor form since the start of the league, the monkeys know they cant afford a big gap opening up,,so I expect to see them flying around booting everything that moves. I wouldnt play Sammy,,I`d go for Killen and Skippy,,,,the defence well it makes me sick watching them,,its a straw pole to see who starts there,,,2-2 for me.

Somebodys aready said it but i agree, if we are not optimistic going to this OF game when can we be, against a hun side that has not scored in 3 straight SPL matches, the negative thing is that they havent conceded either which is a bad thing for us as we dont look the strongest infront of goal.
