i was playing online poker and had a rapid fan at my table aparently they have 3 first choice defenders injured and two of theyr best players have been sold one to wolves cant remember the other and its hurting them at the moment with that being says if we dont take 3 points at home i will be very disapointed its a new look team with alot of work to be done but i strongly believe we have a better team than they do !
cmon the hoops 2-0 home win

McGeady trained yesterday but is still listed as a doubt, he's to undergo a fitness test this afternoon.

Both Hinkel and McCourt had to sit out training yesterday.

Going to miss the match tonight due to work so had to sell my ticket. We need a win tonight or getting out of the group stages is going to be very difficult. If McGeady plays, I'll be hoping Maloney and him link up with McDonald and get plenty of crosses into the box. The one thing I'm wary of is that I've read that Rapid are good on the counter attack. Back 4 must have a good game.

i don't think we should underestimate Rapid, saw their game against Villa and they looked quite solid and capable of scoring although i think their big player left not long after that match

I don't know, they just mentioned it on Sky Sports News last night but didn't say what was wrong with them.

Checked the BBC website this morning at this is all it said, no details:

2 first choice defenders were injured. Patocka (austrian international) is back, Jovanovic (montenegrin international) is still out. Eder has problems. So I'm expecting Soma and Patocka for the central defense.

Yes, thats richt, two of our best goalgetter have beesn sold. Both together scored 50 goals(!!) last season in the Bundesliga, they were wonderful twins (one very tall and strong but with technical deficits, the other one small but very fast). Maierhofer transfered to Wolferhampton, Hoffer to Napoli. Jelavic is a verx good scorer, but he needs too many chances to score (allthough I am sure, that he will soon get a call from Bilic). Salihi (albanian interntional, three goals in the last three league games), a new signing, is a very effective goalgetter, who does not need much chances to score, but at the moment Jelavic is in the pole position. Especially when we start with one forward.

Has happend before. But the other way around. YouTube - Salzburg - Rapid Wien 0:7 :84::84::84:

Trimmel would be a threat. That is correct. Unfortunately he is out because of an injury. So you dont have to worry about hin. ;)

Saw a few Rapid fans at lunch today. I have my Celtic top on and some of them looked like they wanted to approach me to chat. Haven't seen any with Rangers stuff on.

I see that your team hasn't conceded very many goals in the Bundesliga, I'm guessing you have quite a strong defence?

no, he is right actually. our defence is our weakest spot (in our domestic league, most teams don´t try very hard to score against us but rather to avoid conceding more than 3 :icon_mrgreen: ).

still, in Europe (especially against Villa) our defenders miraculously show quite stable performances...yet.
