Great band mate, great * band :50: Not underestimated by me one bit. Remember first time I heard of them was on TFI Friday I think, playing 'You got it bad' blew me away and went out and bought the single straight away. Just got better and better for me.

Was just about to say OCS before I saw your post. :50:

Never quite got the recognition they deserve, despite an incredible frontman in Simon Fowler and some amazing anthems.

They got accused of being 'retro' and 'Paul Weller' clones in their early days and it may be they just never shook it off.

Some very average bands bemusingly achieved far more success.

    Some of my favourites:

Yes! Was going to post them myself.

They never made the mainstream, but what an impact they had influence-wise. Nirvana for one wouldn't be the same without BF and co. Some of the songs like Debaser, Here Comes Your Man, Where is my Mind should be on every pub jukebox, and no CD collection should be missing at least Doolittle...

Yeah I heard about them because of how they influenced Nirvana but it was when I found out who sang the epic song at the end of Fight Club (my favourite film) when I really got into them.
Bossanova is an absolutely amazing album. Allison has got to be one of the best songs ever for the length it is. Where Is My Mind? is one of my favourite songs ever.
Don't like Here Comes Your Man though! Just doesn't seem like a Pixies song to me.

for me its Steel Panther, they are absolutly sensational and shouldnt be taken too seriously.

Michael Starr, the lead singer, is the only person i have heard that sings the exact same way live than he does on the album.

    Excellent :icon_mrgreen:

They had such a short career but album for album you won't find a better ratio. 4 or 5 albums, are 5 stars - an amazing return. I think my personal fave is Trompe Le Monde for the awesome Head On amongst others:

Off Bossanova, The Happening is one of my all time favourite tracks. I've seen them live a couple of times now, hope to see them again one day..

for sheer guitar playing, a guitarist called stanley jordan. the man is amazing he plays two guitars at the same time its brilliant.

also, i love stevie ray vaughn i think he is an absolutely fantastic blues guitarist.

the style council, the best music paul weller made.

half man half biscuit, i just think they are great

the macc lads. * hilarious, crude band but i think their songs are funny as *.

some of the bands are ones that people that i know (as in my friends) havent heard of and some are famous but i dont think get the recognition

    Little Man Tate.
Brilliant when i saw them live.
Although their last album certainly wasn't as strong as their first.
Only ever seemed to get any airplay on the sadly departed XFM Scotland.

OCS were the first band who came to mind when I seen the thread title.....don't get half the recognition they deserve.

    Also The Rifles are under-rated.

Most underrated band of all time is SWANS. I don't care what everyone else says.
