I agree..every time he got the ball out on the wing I was expecting him to do something dangerous

As I started this thread I was really glad to see the lad get a first team chance today. I thought the first 20 mins pasted him by but then came on to a reasonable game, you could see the boy has skill and a willingness to take people on. I thought the lack of understanding between other players was evident but i suppose this was only to be expected. I hope that the boy be given more chances in the future even if it's only cover for Maloney or McGeady or being brought on from the bench. The lad can only get better if given the chance to play regular football Well done to Niall

In a way he kind of reminds me of McGeady - not shy at all to take people on. It's only one game but there is the impression that he may have a better end product. 1 good shot that shaved the post, and a great teasing ball across the face. Probably others that I've forgotten as well but certainly a good option.

It wasn't Mizuno's day either though...

I was really impressed by Niall today - i really hope he's as comfortable on the left or through the centre cos then we have one extremely good player on our hands!

I think when McGeady comes back if McGinn is to be played i'd drop Maloney to the bench - he's not been overly impressive and McGinn just totally out-shone him today.

I was mighty impressed with Niall McGinn today. He was the one bright spark along with Danny Fox.

I would be inclined to drop Maloney who I think is becoming a bit of a passenger TBH. And his free kicks are just horrendous :31:

I think that Nial had very good performance,he could be a nice backup for Aiden. In the next few games I would play Maloney as a second striker. Why not?

best player on the park for me today , making great runs and creating chances , unfortunately we didnt put them away .

he was lurking on the wing the whole game so it was obvoius mogga wanted him to get the ball and show what he can do , any he done that .

overall a good performance and maloney has to get his act together as there is 2 or 3 very good players waiting in behind him , mcginn mizuno and mccourt.

surprised by how decent he was because last year he was rank in the reserves - not much other than raw pace.

Some good pace and nice touches down the wing, but never really threatened overall

personlly agree that Maloney has done nowt this season. He played well against Aberdeen, but since that he hasnt done much. In the big games he has been posted missing. We need him to show the class that some folk on here think that he has.

If it was me then I would drop him and give either McCourt/Mizuno or McGinn a wee chance. They wouldnt be doing any worse than him.

Thought he had a really good game yesterday, would love to see him come on in the latter stages when McGeady/Maloney get tired.
