The word, if you read the rulebook, is Simulation. Did McGeady try to deceive the referee into giving a freekick? No. He didn't claim for a freekick, he didn't say he was fouled. Even if there wasn't contact, a point I'm not conceding, he didn't try and con the referee.

Did Killen claim for a freekick? No. He avoided kicking someone in the face, got up and chased the ball.

:icon_mrgreen: Spot on. How I laughed at people having the sheer audacity to back Eduardo last week.

Little did I know soem would be doing the same this week. For our team.

Glad to see the majority have seen sense though. He dived. Let him take his punishment and move on.

Glad big Tony never came out and slated the Brazilllian last week. having a bit of class means he can't be bitten on the * now.

Yes. Should sell him for it now... Only joking, It shows he dived so The club shoud give him a fine but no near 2 weeks wages like some one said fs. He wiill be banned for the Unted game so thats a punishment its self. Celtic done good with 10 men on the park for more than half an hour, Well done bhoys:50:

I'm not saying he didn't "dive" or anything, but McGeady was going at full speed and the defender comes in and looks like he's about to stick his leg right in front. McGeady knew he was going to tap the ball ahead before the defender gets to it but looking at the replay if McGeady just runs straight or tries to jump there's a good chance they knock legs and get hurt.

There is a clear difference between going down near the sideline, trying to avoid a tackle, and trying to win a call that you would have gotten anyway if you wouldn't have dove compared to diving in the box specifically to win a penalty, especially when the contact otherwise would have been minimal.

You could call it a dive but either way I don't think there's a double standard in criticizing Eduardo but not McGeady.

First off I would say at first glance and even the first look on replay made it look like a foul on McGeady. Only after a few more looks do you see no actual contact is made.
However to compare McGeady today to the Arsenal cheat is ridiculous. Diving in the box to get a pk is a whole different ball game to going down on the half way line. No comparison.
To be honest if you really want to cut out diving from the game you need to red card directly players diving to win pk's and say yellow card diving outside the box.

just back in from the game and the footage on this thread is the only TV pics I've seen. Have watched it a few times and got to be honest there was minimal (if any) contact and if it had been Novo or any of the dark side doing that against us 99% of the people on here would be screaming from the rafters. Its gonna make us look * stupid now after the Arsenal game. As for Killen I haven't seen his antics yet, but going by whats on here is must be worse. Just give the huns and the media ammo to * crucify us in the papers tomorrow.

I actually thought it was a foul on Aiden and if you watch it again have a look at the linesman who is 2/3 yards away and flags for a celtic ball. It sumed up his day though because he had an absoultly * game today.

All this calling for him to be fined and punished further is bullshit, say it was a dive it was sorted on the spot and he will be banned for a game which is enough imo.

If every footballer in the world jumped off a bridge would you want our players doing it?

The only one looking stupid here is you. Getting booked for diving is not harsh.

I don't think it was a dive, yes many angles make it look like it was, there was 1 angle that I'm sure I saw contact.

first time i seen it i thought it was a freekick and so did the linesman who was only 2 yards away as he pointed for a Celtic freekick but the more u see it the more u realise he has went down easily. if it was any other day i dont think it would be such a hot subject but because of the Eduardo incident its made the McGeady thing stand out.

i think it's in the back of people's mind bout the eduardo incident and they feel the need to call there own player a cheat because such a big deal was made about the arsenal dive by the media even tho the mcgeady incident was extreamly harsh . ask yourselves (truthfully) would we be making such a big deal out of this if mid-week hadn't happened my answer is no . why because it wasn't a dive .

basically the celtic fans are just trying not to look like hypocrites and leaving mcgeady open to slaughter in the process . wich i'm not happy bout

i thought there was slight contact tbh. when you get touched when running at full pelt you go down simple as that. a lot of folk on here to eager to give mcgeady unwarranted abuse for my liking, but then that always happnes to aidinho on here.

If Tony Mowbray seen it as a dive then they will deal with it internally, they wont and shouldnt hang their own player out to dry by making an example of him.
