Lads, don't know about you, but I enjoyed the game today, especially because of watching it on TV. Fantastic football, but lame atmosphere. I just don't know why Parkhead was so quiet.

Entertaining again, it's now far better watching Celtic than it has been for years and that'll do me :50:

This is definitely not the place for this but does anyone know if there is a way to get Channel 67 on a Mac?

Everyone said he's one for the future and not ready for first team football yet, do you know something that people that see him in practice every day don't?

Caldwell plays great for many many months then has a nightmare few weeks. We should be used to this. Personally I put it down to several reasons

    1. BTM's tendancy to mess around with who he partners. Too much of Donati (Madness playing him at CB) and OD coming on IMO. I dont think CBs should ever be subbed or rotated unless there is a very good reason.

    2. I also think players almost out of contract tend to go to bits and play poorly. I think they get nervous thinking that one bad injury and they may only have 8 months wages left in their career.

    3. There is also the captaincy poisoned challice theory.

    4. A playing style that exposes CBs who are not the fastest (all of our CBS are pretty slow except Loovens).

Basically I think all of the above are issues and BTM and Lawell are upsetting a very good player by not sorting these issues out.

Mind you this 'well score more than you' approach may spell the death of any European ambitions. This is the traditional Celtic way of the period between Stein and MON and it didnt work then with better players.

I genuinely believe it's hampered him, he has a constant scowl on his face and appears more interested in shuoting and organising than defending. I was for him being made captain but I'm now seeing the reasoning behind the delayed official decision, Caldwell shouldn't be it imo.

just came home from work, but the scoresheet looks quite entertaining. 2 games, 2 victories (8-2 goals) .. a good start into the new season :50:

i enjoyed an entertaining game today, credit to st johnstone for trying to play football &
not just putting 11 men behind the ball. i thought we played some really good stuff at
times & scored some really good goals.
the defence is needing tweeked but i'm sure mogga will address that problem.

An entertaining game with some good football from Celtic, unfortunately yet another error from Caldwell for St Johnstone's first goal, good job it wasn't crucial, also good to see Fortune get a couple of goals which I think is what he has been needing.

Boruc 7 - made a few good saves, not a lot to do
Hinkel 7 - not as great as midweek performace, still good
Caldwell 5 - good performance until he caused the 1st goal, downhill from then on
Loovens 7 - pretty solid as usual
Fox 8 - good performance, good going forward
Maloney 8 - great performance and 2 good goals
Brown 7 - decent, did enough, not his usual driving-forward self
Donati 8 - had a good game, great with the long ball
    McGeady 7 - not a bad performance
Fortune 8 - glad he got a few goals today, deserved it
McDonald 6 - apart from his goal did nothing but moan moan moan as * usual! :47:

I just can't agree with your comment on Donati.

IMO he created absolutely nothing, and I think generally his creativity leaves a lot to be desired.

Apart from Caldwell, whose unbelieveable spell continues, he was our worst man out there, IMO.

Also, I thought that Samuel bloke looked far more dangerous than our strike force, except Maloney, who was IMO, man of the match.

I thought maloney was excellent, mcgeady was quite quiet did well enough tho possibly saving for a big display at the emirates! brown was pretty poor kept giving the ball away, mcdonald was moany and has got a terrible first touch for a professional footballer, i really like danny fox, he's so composed on the ball and is a great find by mowbary. well done to fortune getting off the mark should have got a hat trick tho! and caldwell was dreadful, i like the guy but hes really not playing well at the moment.
