Caldwell = European Liability

OK for the league, but gives away fouls in stupid positions against teams who'll punish us for it. Really needs to break this habit of pulling people down and complaining about it to the ref. Scotland game was the same.

Also, I thought N'Guemo was outstanding last night. He should be our priority signing.

 

Which foul lead to them scoring from a Caldwell foul ? you will find that a lot of other players foul as well but would like to know why youve signled out Caldwell .

I think our defence is fine for scotland but cl they scare me,caldwell has given away a few goals in europe these last few years now that might be just he was trying more than others or he is not up to the job...thats for tig tony to decide.
But i think we do need to spend some more in defence.

 

Eh look at it again ,it was never a foul in the first place ,and if it was a foul in the first place ,its Caldwells fault that the ball went into the net via a deflection ,ffs .

 

The only thing bothering me about Caldwell just now is that he looks too slow.

maybe the fact loovens & mick are both pish disny help, darren o'dea was again unfairly dropped which is why he'll probs leave, which imo is a major loss

 

It was a foul and it was a stupid position in which to give it away. These guys will pass rings around most defences, but the fault lies in the fact that Heid feels the need to rake anyone down who gets past him.

 

Never a foul in the first place ,Heid is the last line of defense tell me what other player wouldnt do the same ,Caldwell is one of the best defenders we have and the longer he stays in there the better the team will play ,,honestly thank your lucky stars McManus aint there ,bombscare .

 

aye we discussed this last week and the fact remains that caldwell "is" a liability at international and european level. I like the guy and nobody tries harder but he just has too many lapses in concentration and his reactions are just way too slow. We cant continue to get fire up for these games to be let down like this time and time again..

Tell me a defender that Doesnt tug on a jersey, doesnt put their arms round a defender !!!! ..It happens all the time , most of you are saying hes ok for the SPL but not europe well try this theory , last night against Arsenal we saw what mosst players in the EPL & europe do , go down too * easy then lay still as if they have been shot .......thats maybe why ..And as for the OG well that was plain unlucky

 

I am gettin used to all of our players gettin slated just cause we didn't win against superior opposition, it seems to be very fashionable on this forum

Makes the same mistakes but he is our best defender, simple as that. I do think that maybe last season has got his head a little coz he's not been that impressive so far. Hopefully he can get back to where he was last season.

 

There wasnt one player who stood out as any better or worse last night but for some people there always has to be a finger of blame. Arsenal are a better team, simple as that.

As for Caldwell, I didnt see anything last night that warrants the pish he's been getting on here. We've seen in the past he can be a liability but he's the best CB we have and dropping him would be ridiculous.

so what your saying is if a player plays poor in a game they should get away with it and just go back in to the team me id drop them and give another player a chance until they * up and bring the player back in and if odea isnt picked on sat then if i was him id leave the club i like caldwell but i beleive he should b learning from his mistakes
