Caldwell had a nightmare & what about Donati ???? Never put a ball right all game. Total disgrace at this level. N'Guemo had a great 1st half & a poor 2nd half.
Fortune .................... 4 Mill wasted. We now dont have a single player that could create anything magical tonight & this is something we lacked.

 

I am not going to point the finger at any of our players. Bottom line is they have better players and are therefore a better side.

When any team puts us under pressure and closes us down when we have the ball it really shows us up. We just don't have the skill/control to deal with it. Thats why n'guemo always looks so good for us. He wants the ball and can deal with it when he gets it ,no matter how much pressure he is under. Quite the opposite of Donati (*, said I wasn't going to point any fingers).

I'm just * flinging same way as the guys that * flung with McManus as Captain. As I said in another thread it's always Caldwell he's the bad guy of late and long time ago.

Has he really come along way as a player since then? well not really, he seems to run hot or cold good game bad game I think now he has the captains armband he has to step up a great bit this season and show more complacent consistency than he has tonight.

I never point the finger at individual players and yes he couldn't have done a lot at the 2nd goal tonight but make no mistake he's a Celtic captain now and under the spotlight severely

we need at least 3 new centre backs then because hes the best at the club. loovens is good but not as good as caldwell.

its a typical reaction yet again after a lose.

 

I'd say he's come a long way, has cut alot of slackness out of his game, doesnt dither on the ball quite so much, tackles excellently majority of the time.

We lacked quality to compete with a team who are at the top level in football. All their players are comfortable on the ball and have a bit of pace about them, and thats what big money can buy you.

We have a few good players, and we worked incredibly hard. Some of our players lack the quality needed to move forward in Europe, not their fault and I'm not meaning to come on and slag players.

Restricted a pretty good side to pretty much no chances and the goals the scored were a little fortunate, so we can take heart from that.

 

caldwell last year was just the best from a bad bunch!! mcmanus received all the critisism and caldwell got away from it more than he should of imo

Yes I'm sure he's officially Captain now with McManus's prolonged absence through injury. To be frank Caldwell always puts the fear into me when he's played CB and generally when it's at its most crucial in terms of defending he goes awol or makes the silly challenge you shouldn't or is generally the most unluckiest guy on the planet.

I still can't forgive WGS for playing him at RB because he is not and I think personally and amongst his most revered haters that's where we have witnessed his most awful appearances - out of position (centre midfield included) but that has now bled over into his normal CB role, any mistake by him has been and will be pounced upon despite what good he does.

 

Come on ther has been a number of matches where Caldwell has * up...don't get me wrong there were a few who never stepped up to the mark, it was always going to be hard, but every player on the park has to work hard, Arsenal chased down every dead ball, closed down every player allowing us no time to play the way we can, first half we did well.. the goal at that time * us ( jammy gits, but Caldwell gave away a daft free kick) they were by far the better team in the second half, as i said a few were bad, but come on Caldwell was pish...and he has * up on a number of occasions..if he was a midfielder then fine, we have a defence to cover, however we don't...get rid before it costs us..

 

MY SUMMARY

1) Should have been 0-0
2) Arsenal are a good side and have some quality players Fabregas, Arshavin
3) We are not CL level
4) We havewasted 3.8 million pounds
5) Boruc did not have a save
6) Almunia did not have a save
7) I have always hated arsenal almost as much as the huns and Man U
8) We need a STRIKER
9) We need a QUALITY ATTACKING CENTRAL MIDFIELDER
10) Sell Scott Brown for as much as we can get 10 million plus (most over rated player i have ever seen)

 

Just the result I expected! It doesn't matter if you have 100 thousand fans cheering you on.

Can't wait for the second leg.

Usual nonesense when celtic get beat on here. Celtic played well tonight, Arsenal scored from 2 lucky goals. Celtic chased and harried, which causes tirdeness which in turn a few players wer sloppy in posession on many occasion but we can still take postitves from tonight. Fortune cost more than he is worth but i'l back him when hes on the park. Thought Sammy had a great game tonight.

Europa is our standard this season, then build for next season. We wer playing Arsenal for * sake, semi finalists of the CL last year and some of the best players in the world in there team, not another team like Dinamo Moscow.

edit: I am sure a few ppl on here saying Donati is pish wer singing his praises lately
