well if us and arsenal here both going for the same player offering the same money etc.. im pretty sure the player would go to arsenal. From that viewpoint they are a bigger team. But in terms of supprt history tradition etc. NO WAY

 

terrible support you can hear a pin drop at the emirates they are a better team but as far as bigger club than us is just stupid

 

how would you know that? just cos they play in the epl?

 

I genuinely think we need to put our feet on the ground. Arsenal are a far, far bigger club than Celtic. If you go to Brazil, or Argentina, or countries in Africa, or any country that doesnt have a history of significant Irish immigration, then the everyday football fan there will not have heard of Celtic, but they will defonatly know of Arsenal. Most people beleive that Arsenal will blow us off the park on both legs. Fs, they just pumped Everton 6-1 at Goodison Park and we just beat Aberdeen 3-1 away. The margin between the two clubs, both on the pitch (football wise) and off the pitch (financial and global image wise) is huge. I'm not saying that Celtic isn't a big club, because it is, but only in certain areas. Countries like Ireland, America and Australia for the obvious reason and now Japan, because of Nakamura, although if that lasts I am not sure.

This is my view, dont go mental.

 

The two big clubs in spain are barca and real madrid the vast vast majority of the spainish population support one or the other.

 

I think Celtic are definetly a bigger club than Arsenal. Obviously there is the issue of the money which playing in the EPL generates, but apart from that and the issues involving that (attracting players etc) I think in all other areas Celtic are miles ahead, fanbase, history etc.
I dont think theres a comparison

 

In terms of success we are above them, but our fan bases are similar. And I can't believe that there's another 'are we the biggest' thread.

Take SKY money out of Arsenal - what have Arsenal got that Celtic haven't?

Arsenal are a big TEAM - but nowhere near Celtic as a CLUB and that is my honest opinion.

 

sky has helped all the english teams mate with the ridiculous money they give them! they will get a fright if one day sky says "we are going to half the money for the next contract? then you would see a few used pampers flying about down there!

 

Arsenal may be one of the top sides in the epl but in terms of global brand celtic are by far the bigger club.

You say that bud... and i respect yopur opinion on it, but i've lived in the south of England for 15 years and i speak to any fan.... of any team, and i've been to many, many games, and mixed with football fans the whole time, and i know only two, true, Arsenal fans..... Surely that says something?

Plenty of Liverpool & Man U but not that many Arsenal...

It's a poser of a question, as we all view it, and weigh it up differently...

Don't be swung by the dream players and constant Sky coverage and plaudits...

Take all that away and Arsenal are a shadow of our mighty team... My Arsenal friends envy what we've got and that's good enough for me.

We have a Great history and the greatest fans on the planet so we take it... any day of the week...

Trust me... i've met more ardent fans of Celtic in my 15 years here than i ever will of Arsenal.... this point is moot
