Radio Humberside were covering this morning that Phil Brown
is ready to table a 6M bid for Andy Hinkel

Seems Hull rate Andy very highly

Why would he go to Hull?

No chance and I wouldn't let him go for £6 million either.

I'd easily take £6M for him. We have Caddis aswell.

If true (always a doubt, let's be fair), then 6 million would represent good value IMO - especially with Caddis waiting (excuse the pun) in the wings. Nonetheless, i'd be astonished if a German International saw his career flourishing at Hull, as opposed to at Celtic.

I'm in two minds about this (assuming it's true...)

Firstly £6 million is a huge amount for one of our good first teamers. And with Marc Wilson who is arguably his equal, Caddis and Doumbe to fill in at right-back, the offer sounds great.

But in reality Wilsons/Doumbes injury record, and with Caddis being unproven, there is absolutely no reason to sell a very good right-back. In fact he's probably rated higher by the likes of Mowbray and Strachan before him, than mere mortals like us.

So I would say thanks but no thanks.

Hull's one of these clubs that will continue to be linked with everyone and his dog. Three main reasons:

    1) They have a manager who just can't resist talking *

    2) They have a loathsome style of anti-football, which means that any decent players they approach suddenly remember they're washing their hair that night

    3) Then aforesaid manager gets up on his high horse about why won't anyone come to Hull, don't understand it, we've got the money etc - forgetting two sub-points:

    3a) The * loathsome anti-football

    3b) Hull

Andy would have to be * temporarily mental to go there...

Same. We only paid what 2.5 mil for him. So for 6 mil ad take it no problem.
Don't see him moving to Hull though

cant see this occuring, why would he want to go to hull in the first place? And hes one of our better players, so I would prefer to keep him :celt_2:

I really like Andy Hinkel, always have. But if a £6M bid came in I'd sell him. We've got Caddis as a natural replacement too.

The 2 of them are in a different class from one another, one is a seasoned German international and the other is a young guy trying to make his way in football and couldn't get a game at right back for Dundee United.

I still rate Hinkel higher than £6 million, I'd struggle to name you half a dozen right backs in Britain I'd have before him.

If we were offered 6m for Hinkel i would hope the club takes it. The guy has been getting alot better, but we could invest that and get another good right back and another midfielder.

I don't think Caddis is good at right back. I always prefered him playing further up the field. Always thought he played best at right mid.

"3b) Hull" was my favourite bit. :56:
