Whats the craic with you the night sammy ,firstly your thread which was a negative and now this post ,Caldwell aint in they guys mentioned above bracket ,but he is the best defender we have at parkhead at present.

 

agree with KennyDal, of course he's not as good as those mentioned above, neither is anyone else in the SPL.

Caldwell, based on last seasons performances, is one of our best players.

 

Don't talk pish he was Celtic's best defender last year and he will be again this year

 

Hre we go back to bashing Heid!! the big man is THE most improved player at Celtic inthe last 2 seasons he's went from being derided to praised and to turn around opinions at parkhead must be one of the hardest things for a pro to do!! (look at massimo at the moment new gaffer proper football style and he's playing very well!!) i'm well aware of heids *-ups in lisbon ,barca and in castle grayskull ( you also need to remember he has a lot of covering for mick to do also but thats another discussion!)but he HAS moved on since then he ain't world class by any stretch but he is the best we have the red card the other night was his own fault but hey * happens and it'll happen again he'll get up from that serve his suspension and come back and prove he's the best centre back at paradise!! again

I can't believe there is even a thread on this, Caldwell is solid and imo should be made captain. He fits in perfectly with Mowbray's vision for expansive, attacking football, he's a centre back who gets the ball down and plays it along the deck - unlike big mick who just loves to hoof it up the park.

he doesnt belong at celtic or playing in european games, hes simply not good enough

 

Ok explain why he is not good enough for Celtic , id like a little laugh at your reasons. And don't mention any * Scotland game for that matter.

hes inconsistent, the only thing he is consistent in is making mistakes like kicking at thin air when hes the last man back, why not mention any scotland game? dont they count? he was an embarressment for them aswell

if we played in a league on a regular basis with bloodlusting strikers like drogba, heskey, tevez, owen then he would show up to be what he is

he gets away with a lot of mistakes because there isnt often enough someone to punish them

Pretty ironic because along with Brown , Caldwell was Celtics most Consistant and reliable player last season. That was there to see and most people who watched Celtic last season will agree.
He makes mistakes , so does everybody , but over the last 2 years he has cut down on his mistakes and the only high profile mistake he last made was against Barcelona when he gifted the ball to Ronaldinho. I cant think of any more since then.
He certainly is our BEST defender which is why he was awarded player of the year and he would be missed if he left.

this is shocking, for the last two years he has been our best defender, it was his great performances that won us the league the year before last, and last year he was solid yet again...he is by far our best defender and saying we should get rid of him because we got * by a * team last week is a disgrace, get behind the team

 

Yeah right! We should sell him, and Boruc and Brown and Fortune and Mcgeady and Maloney and Hinkel....I think some people here would sell N'Guemo if we bought him...

 

Caldwell was one of our most consistent players last season.
