Although hes scored a few pre seaosn goals, still not convinced about him for a start his first touch is horrible struggles to control fast ball, he struggles to hold the ball up, just gets tackled and he has no movement up front, he made a good run today though but most of the time he never makes runs, not very mobile, his shooting is quite good from what ive seen not missed many of his chances but he wants it laid on a plate for him so he can finish, in other words if we dont make chances he wouldnt take it into his own hands like sammie or mcdonald, you couldnt imagine him scoring sammies goal v dynamo could you, if he does play this season, should be against the smaller teams

    Deserves his chance against Aberdeen.

Sounds like you're talking about Kris Boyd. He does alright goals-wise.

He is a blunt instrument. He can finish and be strong against defender and thats about it

but..... those attributes make him useful

First touch is appalling. But he could be useful back-up and deserves sum form of a chance after finising pre-season our top scorer.(something I never thot I would say)

He is good finisher, strong, excellent in the air,but his biggest weakness is first touch. IMO

Yup. But he's useful in aerial combat.

hes good at attacking stuff in the air but not very good as a target man doesnt win alot of header when against a defender, and if he does his first touch just ruins it, hed be good to have in the box for crosses ye but i dont hes smart at pulling off defenders and stuff like that, like i said his shooting is quite good form what ive seen but the team need to make him a decent chance, he aint gona do what skippy did against killie

Most of out strikers have an average first touch, Killen included, however, he has been finding the back of the net in pre-season which is what we want, I still see him as back-up rather than first choice but based on pre-season deserves his chance.

id say that killen could be a useful player this season, however mostly off the bench id say. however it is good competition and i feel our 4 strikers give us different options for different games. One thing i like about mowbray is if the strikers arent doing it hel change it, and this goes for everybody in the pitch.

As for killens 1st touch, it isnt great however mcdonalds isnt exactly superb lol

for me killens done what hes been asked to do and couldnt hav had a much better preseason.

Man, in all seriousness, Killen's nowhere near the quality of JVoH.

He's a big strong laddie, but not a footballer imo.

Mate last season i cannot for the life of me remember Jan being able to chase, hold or take control of the ball.

As soon as i saw Killens header vs Spurs i thought "Jan would have missed" same with the most of his pre-season goals.

Hes going to be a usefull player for when we need a big strong player to hold up the ball, jan didn't provide this.

He's no world beater but he's shown good technique in hitting a ball, plus he's got enough ability and strength to hold up a ball and act as a decent enough target man when on the game.

Mowbray knows how to get goals out of the guy. It's how he ended up here, remember?

Well in fairness you're right, he did have a bad season last year.

But if we want someone who can hold up the ball, we need someone who can control the bleedin thing in the first place. So that rules out Killen right from the off...

He's on form. 5 from 6 games. Whether it's off the bench or the full 90, he's gotta be in there

A striker is to score goals so he gets my vote to be giving a chance and hope he does as it will put the other few on there toes .

He's getting better with every game he plays. I like the lad. He's showed alot more in pre season than fortune! Can't doubt Chris' work rate.
