I thought that Fortune played OK TBH

At least he gave options for passes...

early days for the team. it's fair enough to judge them on a game to game basis, but to say players are * or just not good enough after one outing is pure crap.

as for the defence, let's remember that the defence, as a unit has switched from a zonal to a man for man system, and have had very little time to adjust to this after a number of seasons playing another system.

give it until christmas before the mud slinging starts.

gonna be honest now and ill probally get shot down but its my opinion. i dont like him. we wasted 4m on a very average player. there is much better out there for 4m. he is a striker, his job is to score goals and no matter how many people say "oh but is hold up play is good" this counts for nothing if hes not getting goals to justify his 4m price tag because lets be honest, we were screaming out for a prolific goal scorer. as ive said before, if Fortune is worth 4m then Killen must be in the 7 odd million region.

Fortune could have easily had a hattrick last night and he failed to take the relatively easy chances that fell his way.

if im proved wrong and he turns out to be a crackin player for us ill hold my hands up, but going by last night its not looking very good tbh.

    Fortune will come good

Reading threw some of the Comments, I agree I think Fortune will come good, The way I see it is, Henrik Larsson proberly the best ever Celtic striker, wel certainly the best Ive ever seen in my lifetime, didnt come into Celtic all guns blazing did he? He gave away a stray pass that Hibs won the match with, & scored an O.G on his European Debut..

Then he scored his first goal against St Johnstone Diving header, & never looked back, John Hartson was another 1, £6million he was took til October before he scored, & everyone thought he was a waste of money but got a Hat-rick against Dundee United & never looked back so theres 2 strikers that came into Celtic, didnt settle in till a few games in, In Hartsons case a month or 2, but he did eventually come good & I think Fortune will come good, I duno if any of use have seen clips of him? Theres a few on Daily Motion of him scoring for A.S Nancy, the angles he scores from are ridiculas seriously! This guy looks a really good player..

I had the game on last night but was listening to the Radio commentary cos like them better & Murdo MacLeod, made a great point when he said, "I dont think Fortune has got to know his team mates properly yet, As he is making some runs out wide when he should be attacking the front or back posts", He still has to get used to working with McGeady & McDonald, cos McGeady doesnt need help out on the wing..

Anyway I think we should give him time.. Sorry for the big novel :56:

FFS give the guy a chance, it was his first competitive game for us. People moaning about him after playing 1 competitive game need to rethink about the way they view the game.

Im not trying to speak for the man but i think he means that if a striker were to put away every chance that falls to them they would be at a better team than celtic.
