Unfortunetly I completely agree, I'd sell for 5million, one of the most over rated players i've ever seen, just my opinion. I've been blown away how Scotland rate him so highly, I liked him at Hibs but he hasn't hit the same form here imo.

    Completely agree :50:

Ridculously over-rated. Plenty of energy but little inspiration if you ask me.

People often slag Aiden for his end product, but how often is Browns end product a crap pass or a kamikaze tackle after he hits the ball too far ahead of himself?

Not suggesting for a minute he's not got a lot of potential, but anything over £7 million it should be thank you Broony and cheerio :bbpd:

I agree that's he's overrated but he looked a much better player under Mowbray at Hibs so I wouldn't sell him this season, as if Mowbray can once again get the best out of him his value will rise.

He improved last season so hopefully he'll improve even more this season, I just think it's a bit premature to talk about selling him until we see how Mowbray intends to utilise him.

    Are you serious? :56:

And what do you think we would do without Scot Brown? Play Caldwell in his position, that's what the last tictical genius done and we never collected 3 points at any time it was trialed.

So getting rid of our no 1 performer would be a big step in the wrong direction.

every player has his price and I see where TG is coming from.

as I said previous times, S Brown is an old school british player. fights like a lion, never gives up with a lot of energy, determination and a big heart, but also limited! I think that's the reason why he's so popular and liked among the supporters. that's what they wanna see.

although I wouldn't call him a good footballer. football has moved on, some other factors are even more important these days. however there is no doubt he's perfectly suited for SPL (or may be even EPL) football. nonetheless no way near irreplaceable.

every1 thinks he is a better player with hibs but think about it, we will have seen him up against us and the huns, were the old firm will generaly do the majoritry of attacking, leaving space for him to play in , same with scotland were i think his valuation gets enhanced only my opinion though.
still think we have not seen the best of him and poss a few years time will be the best prospect for the epl teams wanting to throw money at us.

Why? because it's widely believed that both Boruc & McGeady's stock has fallen over the last year, while remarkably, Brown's hasn't. I think Boruc and McGeady have the ability to enhance their reputations this season, I don't feel Brown does, therefore i'd like us to cash in while we can.
Who mentioned anything about an argument? In case you hadn't noticed, this is a discussion board.
    No.
I'm sure there are plenty of threads already on those two players. You might regard Brown as one of our best players, but i'm not so keen on him for the reasons mentioned earlier. £7M is good money for someone who I feel lacks the basic elements of the game.
We'll we're at loggerheads already, you feel Brown is one of our best players and I don't. I feel he is far and away our most overrated player, and would like to see him sold before his value plummets.
Did you see who was awarded the "Best Player" award at the Confederations cup? Do you think this was a reliable indicator of who the best player of the tournament actually was?
    uhm, yes
Well, I would hope we would use the money to buy someone who can regularly find teammates with passes for a start.
Thats not what we are discussing
Thank you for providing such a magnificent contribution to the discussion, there's so much thought provoking content I can't begin to thank you enough.

Who told you that? We played Heid in CM away to the huns and won so you have obviously just made up a 'fact' to win an argument where you are in fact wrong.

Ive been Browns biggest critic since he joined and called for him to be sold in January. I think he's worth keeping now Mogga is in charge, I dont rate Brown as a centre mid of o 4-4-2 as his passing is erratic.

I think under Mogga Browns energy may be used better, if we have 3 centre mids Brown could push forward with Crosas and Nguemo covering. I think we should reserve judgement until the end of this season because Strachan seemed to suck the life out of most of the squad.

Im backing Bronny 100% to be a big success this season.

So, with N'Guemo putting in a cracking performance on his debut, who would still turn down £7M+?
