I dont think its lost its appeal i just think the appeal has stayed the same while other leagues and clubs outwith scotland have become much more appealling due to money and league reputation

ok so (not entirely sold on the idea) we have to get into another league to get back on top of the wages and Europe? I mean I would do anyting to see us in another final (outside of bankrupting ourselves.)

I think its now got to the stage that players couldnt give a hoot who they play for ,as long as the money is good ,young players in Scotland probaly dream of playing for Celtic or Rangers and thats there ultimate goal ,but an example of todays player is the lad that Celtic are after just now Fortune, but look like there going to lose out to Hull City ,would that have happened a few years ago i dont think so ,Money is first now ans Football is secondary when signing for clubs ,sad but true .

Has celtic lost its appeal to players? Or lost its appeal to new fans? I think at this moment we can't buy the big players, so we have to unearth a great player(eg. Larsson, lubo, di canio) i still believe good players wanna play with good players, we haven't had a consistently good player who's name is known throughout europe for ages. It will come, celtic have a great record in unveiling hidden talent. When we enter that era again & have two or three players that are world class, it transforms a team & their fans to a global audience, where new fans & players feel that appeal to be associated with that club. Man City are trying to buy that now, we have to find it.

we've lost the appeal for players due to the huge financial rewards to be gained elsewhere. the academy seems to be the best option we have, we can't compete with the silly sums being thrown at players, nor should we.

If Celtic were even half the size a lot of delued fans seem to think the money to attract big players would be there. The fans always say how Celtic have as big a fan base as the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal from the EPL so where is all the merchandising money?

If you see the houses around manchester, Botwell would look like a slum in comparison. Out of this world houses.

Thats just garbage. If celtic had the television money and opposition we would compete...but we don't have it. A move to the EPL would see the old firm become euro giants.

It means details of Celtics finances are freely available, Dempsey was replying to someone that wanted to know about the merchandising income saying because we are a PLC he can easily find out how much money Celtic bring in.
