what did either of those two do in the spl that sets them apart from russell. Sure they have both done well since they moved to england but who's to say russell wouldn't do well down their too.

McCarthy at the age of 16 was a regular in the team, not looking out of place with people double or 10 years plus his age.

    Fletcher was phenomenal for Hibs.

Russell has shown no more promise than the likes of Goodwillie.

Please provide me some kind of evidence that Russell will improve our squad. Don't knock what I say, unless you can back it up with more than remarks about judgement.

Football players are there to be judged and on Russell's short time at a top level in the SPL, he has done very little to suggest he is worth saying he would improve our squad.

I think Russell has the same type of record skippy had at motherwell and loads of people said nah he can't do a job for us ect..... he proved a good few people wrong, and am sure Russell will do the same job he is hungry and a fan like people have said. we need someone who is willing to give 100% and then a bit more and with Russell you are going to get that IMO

You can't prove anything in the future in football. The evidence is that is to ask my happy bookies.

Why don't you prove evidence that he wouldn't improve our team?

Dont think hes a hun, has a tattoo "Kenny Fletcher 1998 You'll Never Walk Alone" for his dad and said when we were interested in him:

"I'm excited at the thought of moving to Celtic Park. I'm ambitious and would love to play for them. I'm at a stage where I want to win things and play in the Champions League. Celtic will give me that chance. For the development of my career it is time to move to a bigger club. It will help me and improve my chances of playing for Scotland."

And then when Hibs wouldnt accept our bids his agent said...

"Steven is extremely disappointed and feels let down by Hibs. Hibs were unwilling to give Celtic a concrete figure and so we were unable to conclude a deal. He feels he is not getting the opportunity to further his career."

He was quoted in the press several times when he was playing here saying he was a Liverpool fan.

I've possibly been the most vocal member of this board regarding GMS, I have want us to sign him for the past year :56:

He is only really missing 1 attribute and that is physical and can be developed. Apart from that he is technically superb, hits a sweet cross and is willing to accept creative responsibility and try to make things happen. Celtic only have 1 other player of that ilk, McCourt, and he is even worse from a physical perspective.

Rooney's time at United is up.

I don't rate him as highly as some others do. But I would take him on loan.

Haha again my bad mate. Agree 100% with all that, every game I've seen him play he's just a right danger to defences. He's an unusually technical player for a Scot, we've lacked players like him for years. I think if he joins us we will get him in the gym and building a bit of strength and just try to develop him as a player which we clearly are good at. Even watching the semi final on Sunday proved why we should sign him, he caused our defence a * of a lot of problems and just generally was a nuisance to us. I'd sign him in a heart beat, only 22 as well.
