    Has anyone mentioned Markus Rosenberg? Still only 29 with a wealth of experience in European competition, 44 games played 11 goals scored between UEFA Cup/Europa League/CL with Ajax and Werder Bremen. He is 6ft1 great in the air, strong, good with his feet and wouldn't cost much as I think his contract is up this summer or next. He has a respectable goal-tally in the Bundesliga of 1 in 3 with Werder Bremen (40 goals in 122 matches). Thoughts?

    From Kerrydalestreet Forum;

    "Heard we're sniffing around a striker from Mons, Jeremy Perbet. Supposedly has a £1mil buyout clause"

    Just really to echo the Jérémy Perbet rumour, apparently available to buy for £1m.

    Everton and Leicester were rumoured to be looking at him in February/March time.

    He is 27 years old, a Centre Foward, 6ft 1/2 inches. Played in the lower leagues in France and Belgium. This has been his breakthrough season as he got promoted to the Belgian Pro League with his club and can't stop scoring, seems like he'd be a steal at £1m, here is a little bit about his last few seasons.

    SC Lokeren
    In late December 2009 it was confirmed that Sint-Truiden were interested in signing Perbet, and even had a contract ready once his old contract at Tubize would have ended. According to media reports, however, Perbet was in no mood to transfer to Belgian Club Sint-Truiden. When the 2010/11 season was about to begin, the 25-year-old signed a two and a half year long contract with Belgian club SC Lokeren. The transfer fee was disclosed, but the sum paid to Tubize was estimated to be 350,000 €. Perbet made 12 league appearances with SC Lokeren in the Belgian Pro League scoring 1 goal, before agreeing to a season on loan to RAEC Mons in the Belgian Second Division in January 2011.

    RAEC Mons
    Although sustaining a knee injury which caused Pebert to miss some of the 2010-11 season, Perbet was able to make 14 league appearances for RAEC Bergen Mons scoring 14 goals to help the club secure promotion to the Belgian Pro League. RAEC Bergen Mons decided to purchase Perbet permanently in the 2011–12 season after he had preformed excellently in the Belgian Second Division during his loan spell. RAEC Bergen Mons got promoted to the Belgian Pro League after winning the final play-off match against Waasland-Beveren 2-1. The 2011–12 season has been Perbet's career best, scoring 22 goals in 29 appearances in the Belgian Pro League and 28 goals in 38 appearances for RAEC Bergen Mons in all competitions.

    Here is some footage from this season of Perbet the Belgian Pro League:

    From the 14 April 2012 regarding Perbet - Leicester City fan on foxestalk Forum

    "23 goals in 30 appearances, that is a pretty good record in the Belgium Pro League. This league is 12th in the UEFA rankings a bit of perspective compared with the Scotland who are 18th.

    His team Mons are 10th in the league, the highest scorer for Anderlecht who are 1st in the league has 12 goals. So I would say this lad has some talent, but you know with every transfer from abroad it is a gamble."

    Not what we are looking for imo.

    Looks similar to Hooper in that he knows how to find the back of the net. But the defending in the vid looked poor. Even at 6foot I dont think he is great in the air since there is not one headed goal in the vid and I dont think he could hold the ball up well. Should be a bargain at 1mil for some team but hopefully not us.

    Sorry it's 40k a week still not coming here - 40k a week Sunderland refused to match his Liverpool wage hence why he never went as part of the Henderson deal .

    He's leaving his club because he doesn't want to take a wage cut if I'm correct, so don't think we could afford him. Should be great though.
