Liverpool have been linked - and 10million has been the figure quoted.

If a team - especially a EPL team think a player has the potential too be a star in the league - they will pay top dollar. fact.

I think that's a good shout. I doubt we could get him but he'd do very well up here if given the chance.

aye aye. Liverpool are going to buy a striker from the Romanian league for 10 million. Nah. He's a good player, I think we could buy him.

On that note, about paying top dollar, brings me back to the auld point, the fact that players would rather stay in the EPL than come to Scotland!!!

Tuncay is a great shout, Gudjohnson is another.

How much do you think Fernando Meira would cost? I would be happy enough to * our full transfer budget on him.

Aye, he and his countryman Bruno Alves at the back for them. A think he's just the type. A good football player as well as a defender. Wouldn't mind paying the wages required. Not sure about a fee to buy him from them though. But, he isn't on a long contract because of his age.

The main point wisny aboot the club - Liverpool's one of many intrested in this 6'8 monster of a guy - it wis more the player having a price-tag of around 10million. Which obviously rules us out.

Just because he plays in the Romanian League doesnt mean they wouldnt command a large fee for him - We got 9.5million for a player 6month ago and he plays in a *-poor league in Scotland.

Cluj ( his club ) - have also appeared in the CL in the last few seasons and as Champions of their country are establishing themselves as the top team in Romania of late. They're no mugs - if they put a 10million price tag on him , they will - simple.

On your last point your making a general comment about all players when each and every player is a unique and specific circumstance.
Most players worth their salt would want to stay in or go to England - some dont.

Ljungberg could have tried his luck down in England again - he chose us.
Joe Ledley could have went to the EPL - he chose us.
Sammy could have stayed in the EPL - he chose us.
    .........and so on

you get my point .. many players could have stayed or went to the EPL but didnt. It happens.

This guy would be a realistic target for us. Price-tag doesn't mean the buying fee. Thats probably to scare suitors away. But this guy would improve us and if we were ever interested, I'd say it's realistic in every way, but we'd have immense competition, most likely resulting in losing to a team with more money to give him.

Gotta take more into account, Spartak have money to burn. McGeady played at a higher level. Not necessarily against better or worse oppo, but for a team with a higher standing.

What is it with you though? I said, that it's a realistic target and you come back saying they can put whatever tag they want on him. I know they can, I never said they can't. But that doesn't mean it's how much someone has to pay. I give my opinion, I can't see someone paying that much money for someone from that team. I can't see them having to either. Also you put, 'Cluj' in brackets, my initial suggesting post was: Lacine Traore CFR Cluj.

General because it's a fact that most are after money- that is for sure. Undeniable. Yes there is different circumstances. But what I have mostly said is that players will look to the EPL first.

Also, Ledley came from the champ. Sammy, was doing * in the EPL at the time and Ljungberg is big Dan's and big Johan's pal.

I have heard a wee whisper that we have enquired about Michael Brown of Portsmouth. Nothing concrete yet, but Brown is in contract dispute with Pompey at the moment, and if he plays another game for them they have to pay top dollar, so they are not playing him. I know, another midfielder, but Brown is a good midfielder and he is available.
