Suggest a striker

Right, we all know that we lacked the cutting edge up front last year. Looks like Jan is out, and Sammy just didn't show back up to class after his injury. So a new striker is needed (or so most of us reckon) Let's get a list of some strikers you'd like to see in the hoops.

Lets keep it some what realistic, and somewhat to within our 'price' range, what ever that may be.


Personally I'd like to se us go for either Marcus Rosenberg or Hugo Almedia of Weder Bremen. I thinik both have good experience now, and could do a good turn in the SPL. Getting them to sign may prove difficult from where they are now, but I wouldn't imagine either of them would be on a wage that is out of our reach.

 

berg the swedish lad looks okay. dont know how much he would cost us

 

id go for leroy lita, hes strong and pacy and a good finisher and available on a free, looked a cracking player with reading in the premiership, just needs a bit of confidence.

i would also maybe try and get dave kitson on loan with a view to signing him permanently, good finisher, good in the air. another one that needs a bit of confidence.

personally im sick of people saying marco janko, maybe he is good but how many people have truthfully seen him play?? (apart from his best bets on youtube, u could put anyones best goals together and make them look good)

 

Janko and Fletcher is all we talk about. It makes you wonder if we, or the media, know of anyone else outside fo what we are fed at times.
There are many a talent out in the big world waiting to be signed up, just a matter of finding them. hopefully some of our foreign lhads can mention a few good hiden gems.

 

marc janko still would be my 1st choice but i dnt think we will pay what they want for him so probz say derbyshire sopose to be leaving blackburn for a team in greece . so i think we could get him

mabye obafemi martins but am not sure he'd be cut out for the SPL don't think it would work

Realistically maybe someone like Landon Donovan, Michael Owen (on a pay as you play contract; I have a sneaking suspicion this might be a possibility), Frei of Dortmund, Voronin (pick up for pennies now, I'd think), Makaay (or has he retired this year?), Bojinov (might get him as part of a Man City fire sale, but wages may be high), or maybe a cheeky loan of someone like that Italian Man U boy (Macheda?).

What about Tuncay? looked a quality player a few times ive seen him and they have just been relegated.

frei would be good, maybe doyle as well, tuncay as a playmaker not a striker... maybe charistaes?

 

i doubt we'd get voronin now he just had a great year i germany at hertha berlin he scored 11 goals in 23 apps and they qualifoed for CL and i read somewhere (world soccer magazine i think) that there is a few clubs chasing him now but he wants to back to liverpool and fight for his place there.

 

Saw someone suggest Landon Donovan, and in the vein of American players, how about Jozy Altidore? Might take some time to come into his own, but at this point in his career I think he could do quite well at the SPL level
