One of the best pieces of new I have heard all day, I would take him not a problem but no doubt the board would rather have something else, theyve been ignoring left back for long enough

He'll want his side to play the same way he encouraged at WBA - which also happens to be the Celtic way - quick, inventive, attacking, passing football.

So in general he'll sign players who can pass well when on the ball, and find space well when off it.

More specifically though, I think we'll definitely go for Fletcher now. It's no secret John Park rates him, we've already made enquiries about him - and at Hibs JP brought him thru the youth ranks, & he came into the 1st team squad under Mogga.

Robinson looks a likely signing too. He flourished under Mogga at West Brom and it seems he fancies coming here. Maybe not the long-term solution at LB, but let's face it, any solution would be practically historic for us. :icon_mrgreen:

That apart, we may sign a couple of good Championship players that Tony admires - as studatelya points out, that strategy has reaped huge rewards for Moyes at Everton.

But John Park has a big input into transfers, and the two of them have had a very productive working relationship in the past, so I reckon our new signings will be the outcome of their partnership...

I'd like to see a left back, dominant centre half, creative midfielder (especially) and a couple of strikers, a tall hard pacy striker, and someone to give McDonald food for thought.

No not really, cant complain about brown or caldwell:50: I would like to see one or two quality signings like a couple of underrated players from the epl like we did with lenny, thompson etc.. thats if the mogga gets the funds.

I would like to see what he does with what he has first and foremost, and by that I mean with the players who have been left out. WGS seemed to have his own and very distinct agenda with regards to some players, most of whom have been mentioned.

Other than that, a LB!!! and I don't care if he signs players from junior clubs, as long as they freshen up the side and can play. Well OK not the juniors but you get the idea!

And one more thing, hopefully we won't keep signing midfielders now........

I dont know why so many people think Fletcher is the answer to our problems :31: the guy got what 11 goals for Hibs in 33 or 34 starts and that merits a move and a first team place at Celtic nowadays :54:

    * spending 3 or 4 mill on Fletcher like they want for him when we could push the boat out a bit and still go for Janko for say 6 or 7 mill.

I think he'll go for Paul Robinson from West Brom - they * love him down there. Very solid, good in the tackle, great distribution. He's made it clear he wants to come, only thing is I think he signed a new contract at the end of last summer following all the speculation with us, he's probably cost a couple of million now rather than a free if we followed up the interest properly last year. Still i'd pay the dosh and take him though.

He'll need to splash out for a replacement for Naka, in my opinion he was our best player and i'm sure Mogga would like to replace with someone of similar ability. I think he'll go for a sitting midfielder that will give Scott Brown, Aiden and Naka's replacement the freedom to get forward and hurt teams.

This along with a quick and mobile striker will hopefully see us returning to tearing teams apart the Celtic way like we used to do.

Nah, look man, that's not realistic.

    1) Janko will go for nearer 10 million imo.
    2) That's just a transfer fee. if we're going to beat EPL clubs to his signature there will be serious wages on top of that. We'll be looking something between 15-20 million for the entire cost of the deal, that's if we can fit it into our wage structure at all.
    3) We've got no guarantee of Champions League money this season.

In short, to "push the boat out" would pretty much use up our entire transfer budget. I'd rather have the boat closer to the shore - where it can also pick up a left back, a creative midfielder, and a centre back.
