I can't believe so many fans loving Tony Mowbray.

What has he done apart from one decent season at West Brom. Yes he plays attractive football but all i will say is did Tommy Burns win the league with attack attack, did Kevin Keegan win league for Newcastle with same ideas.

Great to watch but no defence.

I want someone who has good defensive ideas but likes flair and someone who excites me, and it is not Mowbray.

Who would you have unless it would be Mogga

I don't think it's fans loving the idea of Mogga but more settling for him instead although he is 1s choice of a good few. But from what I have read on this forum, and opinions of my friends, they would rather Bilic but that won't be happening(sadly imo). But whoever the man is to take this job we'll all be behind him 100%. Alot of managers can come in without the best C.V but flourish and step up to the challenge, with the correct backing and support from the board and fans.

IMHO a coach that finishes dead rock bottom aint good enough to be Celtic manager.
I will back him 110% If/when he becomes manager and hope he proves all my instincts wrong.
I loved TM as a player,I was there at his debut against aberdeen,I was directly infront when his shot hit the bar,I have always rated him as a player, but being manager of Celtic is not a job that should be taken lightly,in his favour,he'll know that more than most.I don't forgive him for 2005 when he allowed his hibs team to get beat and in a manner like that.
In my opinion,we should promote from within and make Willie McStay manager,he'll cost * all and has a very successful pedigree
If anyone going to play football the Celtic way then its him

I would rather have Coyle as manager to be honest.
I think we are chasing our 4th choice manager :87:

Apart from one good season at West Brom he had another good season at West Brom. And two or three good years at Hibs.

I just think the names we have on our list, Mowbray, Coyle, McGhee come on this has to be some sort of joke or something. Once again the board are going for guys who can manage on a small budget same as Strachan.

    * no. We should have had this league sewn up, Wht was it we had at one point 12 points in front or something, and let that slip. Last year we were lucky if we are all honest. I just think we should be aiming higher in our list of targets.

So what your saying then in his 2 seasons with hibs he finished 3rd and 4th. then finished 1st in the championship scoring more goals than manchester united in the same season, You should change your statement to apart from 1 bad season what has he done

Agreed we should have had the league sewn up. But Strachan picked the players, who done * all from december onwards. Its the players who should look at themselves. Bring back Strachan

The manager will have to work with a small budget so it makes sense to go for someone that has experience of this.

Mowbray plays good attacking football, my worry with him (as I've stated on the 20 other threads discussing his capabilities) is if he is able (or indeed willing) to give up attractive football in order to get the results, I think he might have learned his lesson in this regard - although that is purely gut feeling as we have nothing to go on.

He did well with Hibs and WBA (apart from last season) has a track record of bringing through young players, has worked within tight budget and plays an attractive brand of football (something many fans have been calling out for).

Why do you think he's not capable?

Actually blame the board who should jave back the manager with cash to make the squad stronger. They didn't bother their backside, Only Willo Flood for pennies. That aint backing your manager to the degree which was needed. Oh aye and the rserve player we bought.

The only people that seem to be mentioning the fact he once played for us are the press and those that don't want him, I've yet to see a Celtic fan say they want him as manager because of this

nah for me! its ok saying he will get us playing good football? but will he have us winning trophies? i think celtic need to get a grip either pay the * 2m for him if they really want him so we can all get behind him(cos we will) and start getting our team sorted out asap! or get the finger out and get someone else altogether?

I watched STV the other night when they were talking to some Celtic fans and everyone mentioned he would be good because he was a ex-Celtic man.

I hope you are right there mate, but I think some fans are going to be against him (or anyone else that is not "top class") from the very outset.
