    and Why

Hes still not signed a new contract or failed to deny hes on his way,all he said was "When I go on holiday,Itll be as Burnley Manager"not whatll happen when he gets back

Hes a tim -and the chance to pit his wits in the CL and to also etch his name in Celtic folklore will be far too hard to resist

I found it strange that Lennon has been kept on,without said approval of new manager, unless its not already a done and dusted deal.

What I think is happen is he is asking for some reassurances, like transfer kitty and also trying to get his head around the enormity of the job he'll undertake.
    Think he'll be unveiled shortly

Hes the coach of Burnley, they'll get pumped every week.
If he wasnt coming he would have made it clear as day by signing his new contract before he went away.
Celtic would not have set themselves up for paying severance pay by keeping on Lenny a man who is well known to Coyle.
Even to get back to the old fundamental basics, England is a crap place to live,He'll be dying to come home.

The more I think about it the more I become convinced he'll be the man.

He is mulling it over, a deal was offered and he has taken time out to contemplate it. All will be revealed on Monday when he returns from holiday.

Unfortunately I agree with you. My gut feeling is that Coyle is the guy the board(or Dermot Desmond) really want. When he comes back from his holiday I'm sure Celtic will speak to him again and they will persuade him to take the job. I hope not but I have a feeling he will take it in the end if he is offered it. :54:

I dont think he will come. hes has got a young family and thats a lot to ask for them to move to glasgow and live in the old firm goldfish bowl.

I would prefer him to mogga tho.

If it's Coyle the board want then he won't even need a second to mull it over. It's widely accepted he'd do pretty much anything to manage Celtic and his only regret from his playing career was not playing for us.

We're getting overly carried away with the lure of the Premiership because the media keep telling us it's great. It is the best and richest league in the world but if a Celtic diehard has to choose between managing Burnley or Celtic there's only 1 winner.

He knows what an honour it is to be associated with the club and its history, he needs to instill that in the players, some of whom simply did not display it when needed this season, At least he might say cheerio to Mr Samaras and the rest of the dead weight at the club, I hope he signs on the dotted line.

I accept he wouldnt think twice about becoming Celtic manager thats a given-Lenny being kept on is a good indicator of that. Also Lenny has been asked for his imput on who it should be who should manage Celtic.

Ill be perfectly honest,I want a Celtic man that knows the score, knows how important it is to beat the huns and hurts as much as us when it happens,Coyle ticks those boxes.
Its too big a job to turn down
Expect a media frenzy within a few days

Surely having the skill and experience to manage Celtic would be much more important factors that should be considered rather than someone who knows what it feels like?

I've nothing against Coyle, and he would probably be my preferred option, but it has nothing to do with him being a Celtic man.

Until Celtic announce our new manager it's still anyones so I'll just wait and see until the official announcement is made.

does anyone know what day coyle is returning from holiday, As the last few days has passed ive felt that it maybe coyle has told celtic he wanted to decide on the job after his holiday, when he returns i think we might be a bit clearer on the manager situation

the board should have had a replacement lined up long ago imo they knew he would leave. moyes-rejected, coyle-rejected-,martinez-wigan- ,mowbray- too expensive.

Don't believe everything you read in the papers.

The only official approach seemingly made was to Swansea, the rest have denied receiving an approach from Celtic therefore without that approach Celtic could not have interviewed and then offered the job.

Moyes and Coyle couldn't have refused it if they were never offered it.

    Mowbray deal isn't dead.

£2-£3 million for Martinez is probably a bit steep anyway.

He left last Friday for 10 days in Florida which should mean he's back by Monday.
