I like the way he gets his teams playing. If he does at Celtic what he did at Hibs and now West Brom i will be happy. I want to see the game played that way Hammer.

I want to be proud of the way we play. I think he can give me that. Not only that, but i think he can get results.

If i think he can bring style AND results, i believe he is the right man.

We all want to see football the way he plays it :50:

I'd just rather be a team of winners first and entertainers second.

We had a team of winners for 3 years and although I enjoyed the winning for a good 2 years I never enjoyed the matches themselves. He got Hibs 3rd and 4th so he could win the SPL with Celtic no bother I think. I want to see all out attacking football with a manager who wont be scared to let 6 people get up the pitch and attack teams who "park the bus" against us at Celtic Park and do the same in all the games V the huns.

I'v just been having a nosey on West Brom forum and although they got relegated the majority of them will be disappointed if he leaves. In saying that , they dont seem to be big fans of Peter Grant for some reason

Can't imagine anyone too high profile being considered so TM wouldn't be the worse choice.

Could also continue his work with John Park.

Why Mowbray ? He got WBA relegated.

I'm at a wee bit of a loss with this one.

Why take a manager who has just seen his charges relegated.

    It beggars belief. :87:

    Because he started the huddle.

Seriously - I like Tony Mowbray, but I don't think he's good enough.

As has already been posted elsewhere, WGS did the same thing.

Don't really want him to come but will back him if he does arrive.

A point an earlier poster made stating that the league he got relegated from contains man u, chelsea, arsenal etc but it also contains a few right stinking teams too. Everyone could see months ago that playing attractive fitba wasn't working in the prem for WBA but he couldn't/wouldn't change his tactics. I't would concern me if our new manager had no plan b which is my main reason for not wanting him.

With being relegated this season, I think he may have learned some of the lessons Hammer is referring to - but lets be honest Strachan could not work out a way to beat Hibs, DUFC, Rangers etc... Mowbray has an ethos of attacking football & he has a history of getting good results with small budgets/bringing through youth.

I would not be disappointed if we got him.

How do you know he doesn't have it? Maybe he's just stubborn like the previous manager we had?

Strachan won 3 titles in a row and very rarely had a plan B. It was always high balls into the box. Watch the Hibs game again.

We should never be losing 1-0 to St.Mirren, never. If we get a manager who likes to play quick, attacking football, maybe we'd see the best of McGeady and teams wouldn't be able to handle us.

I'd love to see Mowbray in. I'll say it again, anybody who doesn't want him because WBA got relegated is a *. Mourinho would have struggled to keep them up ffs.

They tried to attack and didn't have the players for it, simple. We do, I think he'd be a success here.

Hibs were brilliant under him. He was successful, considering their previous managers since and before him, and they played great football but IMO could also defend well enough.

If we're losing 1-0 to St.Mirren, the last thing I'd want to see is balls fired into the box. I seen it failing under Strachan too much. Hibs 0-0 anybody?

Good post. :50: Although we've been successful under WGS, we've been short on entertaining football. Mowbray would bring this in spades I believe. How many managers get a standing ovation despite steering the team to relegation?

If fulham had failed to get into the europa i would have went for roy hodgson, plays great football, has a solid defence and knows near enough every league in the world, so knows where to get brilliant cheap players e.g hangeland! Lets be honest about it here Mowbary won the championship at a canter season before last, and thats the hardest league to get out of and far far better than the spl, he would do well in the spl, i would just worry about what he would do in europe!

He won't have Gary "Bekenbaur" Caldwell lumping balls into Ron Jones' heid for 90 mins, in a must win game.

Surely tactical naivety is the wrong thing to pick him up on, after the last Celtic manger's ability in that department.

Absolutely no Tony Mowbray, his team got relegated for * sake, and i remember in 2005 how he settled for a 1-0 defeat against the huns because it was acceptable,no absolutely no Mowbray.
Think Lawwell wants a yes man

It should be a mixture of both, not one or the other.
