Burnley also reached the Cup semi final knocking out Arsenal, Chelsea, West Brom and Fulham from the Premiership. :icon_mrgreen:

Swap The Championship with Premiership, Aston Villa with Burnley and look at Martin O'Neill he actually finished 6th with Aston Villa and done less in the Cups :50:

Burnley were previously pish though, and they sold their best player at the start of the season. There is no questioning he has done a great job.

Now quick everyone who hasn't voted in these poles vote for Coyle seen as Bilic is giving him an Absolute pasting atm lol

It was just on Sky Sports News that Coyle wants to talk to Celtic but Celtic haven't made an official approach yet but are planning on making one soon. Burnley are saying they don't want Celtic to make an approach, of course but I think its a case of getting everything sorted as Coyle will be manager if he gets to talk to the club.

I disagree. Sensible realistic choice probably. Always liked Coyle myself.

That'll do for me. Let's see what he does.

I've not seen many people say they want him/happy with him being appointed because he's "Celtic Minded", certainly makes no difference to me.

None of the candidates linked had european experience (Bilic has never managed at club level) and all came with their own risks, to me Coyle is a young up and coming manager with great potential and if it's true he has joined us then wish him all the success in the world and he gets my full support.

Yeah and if they choose Bilic and he fails then the board would be accused of picking the wrong person.

Id be happy with Billic, Mowbray or Coyle. Top managers.

am a bit disapointed if it is him to be honest thought we had higher aspirations thats not to say he is not a good manager..but can he win the league in his first season with relatively little experience of managing a top flight side. And how will he cope with playing in europe with little if any experience. he would not be my choice as of yet i was hoping for a bigger name or a manager with a decent CV both on the continent and in a decent domestic league.

lack of ambition as usual from the penny pinchers every year lawell says celtic are a massive club who want to compete with the best in europe but we get owen coyle no disrespect to the man he is a good manager but lets not forget he was managin st johnstone in the first division less than 2 years ago and didn't even come close to winning the championship

Lafferty is wat down the list of Burnley's best players. Robbie Blake is streets ahead.

    Sorry, as you were.

    Another point about Coyle.

He has a good relationship with Wenger after an FA Cup match between the two teams in Coyle's first season.

Wenger was impressed with the style of play at Burnley, and was surprised it wasn't your average cup-tie against a lower league side.

Im standing firm on this Josh. Blake is far better than Lafferty. Not as athletic, but his brain and his touch are something Lafferty will never have.
