We obviously wouldn't be able to afford Mourinho but I can't accept we wouldn't be able to put in a decent offer to someone like Bilic.
We've not exactly been on a spending spree of late - where's all our money going?
Can we really only afford guys like Levein?

I'd love to see someone like Bilic at the club and I realise he's not on that much money just now, but if even 1 job was available in England he'd automatically be out of our price range.

I agree that it's time for a change, I think GS has taken us as far as he can but whoever we get in is going to be a risk and will more than likely be someone of the standard of Levein (which I wouldn't be too disappointed with as I rate him) I just think aiming for a top guy is unrealistic.

Why not at least try and get someone like Bilic or Rijkaard and if for whatever reason we can't get them, then lower our standards and go for a Levein Mobray?
If you don't ask, you don't get!

A mis typed that at times they are better than us:50: some of the stuff we have produced most of the season has been total garbage:38: and certainly not good enough and i think the manager has done all he can for us and its time to go.

Exactly, surely we can aim a bit higher than the likes of Owen Coyle. Ask some of the bigger managers currently out of work to see if they are interested (Rijkaard, Mancini, Sven Goran Eriksson) and if they are, great, if not, then move onto people like Craig Levein.

You are obviously right in what you say.

It just got me thinking. Our away form has been pretty poor. Our main area of strenght is that it is hard for teams to come to parkhead and get a result.

So I was wondering if the likes of United or Hearts played in front of 50 odd thousand each home game do you think there would be 28 points between us ?

Personally I think it would be very close, so in a sense as a team, they might not be as far behind us as you would think.

WOuls actaully love to see Bilic at Celtic, think he could do a great job, however i'm probably one of the few people on the forum who still backs the current Manager!

    Hail Hail WGS!

Many apologies if you have posted your reasons before, but why do you back the Strach?

Whether we win or not is irrelevant to WGS's future. He would have to lose it next year too to get the sack IMO. Losing one in four isnt a sacking offense. If it was, every Celtic manager other than big Jock would be fired. He also is probably loved by the board and if he loses the SPL next week it will be the first thing he has dont to dissapoint them in 4 years. He may walk. I would if I was him. However, I can only see that if a decent EPL team, not a relegation type one, come in or even a foreign post. If he ever left us I would really want him for the Scotland job.

No, to be honest i haven't really so don't worry! WGS makes some crazy decisions, can be outragiously frustrating in interviews and has brought in some shocking players, yet he has brought Celtic European football for the past 3 seasons, won the 3IAR and brought in some cracking players!

Ok, i can to a certain extent understand why some people do get annoyed with the guy but the majority of the haters didn't give him a chance from the first game! It's all ok when we are winning well but as soon as we play crap all the haters come out and let themselves known!

Basically, what i'm trying to say is that Celtic are not in that bad of a position, ok behind the Gers is never good but we are stilll in this league title race and i seriously have no doubt that we will win it. If we don't win the SPL on Sunday i know the hate is only going to get worse for Strachen but us loosing the League this year (which we wont) would not have been totally his fault! Any manager can only sign players with the budget he is given and that is what our manager has done.

There is little excuse why we lost so many away games recently but at the end of the day we are only 2 points behind Rangers and if we lose the league by 2 points then, for me, it is no reason for sacking the manager!

Hope that explains a bit, not that people are going to agree with me!

    Hail Hail WGS

i cant see the problem with Levein/Mowbray as manager, both managers have made good choices on players in the past, mowbrays hibs team was dynamic and simply a joy to watch, dont see much of west brom. two seasons at dundee utd for levein and a few good seasons for hearts ok leicester not so great but once again quite a dynamic team with lots of pace, non of them with a budget like we have, bearing in mind that we pay huge amounts more on a players wage than most clubs and transfer fees, if dundee utd was able to splash a couple of million on few players i would be confident levein would spend it better than strachan and prob get a better class of player and on less wages

said this a while now but just get strachan out he is shocking and it is just luck we won 3 in a row, and boards shortsightedness in not investing, crap players that need bumped after all this is what strachan has built *
