Seen this today and thought it was pretty well made. If you are thinking of going to see this, make sure you watch the first one so you get a background to the characters and what happened.

They're filming a sequel to Divergent. I think it could be a series of films. Girl in it, Shailene Woodley, is gorgeous.

She was in that fault in our stars. Playing a cancer patient, she looked howlin in it but aye she is a stunner.

    Apocalypse Now, Class.

Is it just me, or are films that are being released now and in the last few years, with the exception of a few, shocking compared to the 70's, 80's and up to the mid 90's?

I'd argue the opposite is true. :smiley-laughing002:

I can't think of a film released before the 90s that I'd watch.

Even the godfather 1,2 and Scarface? I genuinely don't really like 'old' movies but them and scarface are something else.

Made in 1972, 1974 and 1983 and yet I love them, can watch them a number of times and still be in awe. The actors, the acting, the storylines. They were all well ahead of their time and don't come across as too vintage but their is a vintageness to them that adds to the effect.

Godfather would have been ruined if it were done now.

I haven't seen any of them. Well, I've seen little bits of Scarface here and there.

You need to at least watch the first Godfather. Its quite possibly the best movie ever made.

Cinematic beauty. Shame the third was bastardised. :54:

Trading places is a good show. I wouldn't watch much before the 90s either. I always just assume it will be boring *

You are missing out big time then, The Godfathers, Scarface, Mean Streets, King of Comedy, once upon a time in America, Raging Bull, The Untouchables, Taxi Driver (basically anything with De Niro in it). The Shining, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Rain Man, Wall Street etc. They're just some off the top of my head that are must watches, that I've seen myself.

Although I think that films released in the 90s are probably my favourite overall -Goodfellas, Scent of a Woman, Carlitos Way, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Heat, The Usual Suspects, Shawshank Redemption and a lot more.
