One of the threads tonight got me thinking. Having supported Celtic for thirty years or so, it's frustrating/amazing to think of some of the players who we never discuss / forget about.

To that extent, I'd kindly ask you to help me roll back the years and identify the Celtic Team of the Year for, well as long as we can go back really.

Everybody remembers the Larssons, Lubo's Mcstays etc but what about the other unsung heroes: The Rogan's, the Morris's, the Elliot's

And what about the other's: The Annoni's, The Slater's, The McGugans!

If we can start to list these teams, it might jog a few memories and some good stories? I deally it would be teams that you watched of course.

So, what do you think? I'll start, and make it easy, by doing last years.

    11 First Teamers, 3 subs (1 DF, 1 MF, 1 FW:)

    2007
Boruc, Wilson, Caldwell, McManus, Naylor, Naka, Brown, Hartley, McGeady, Jan, Skippy

    Subs
    Kennedy, Robson, Miller

Who can do another team? Doesn't need to be in any particular order. How far back can we go? :shamrock:

In the opening post - what season are you refering to the last one or two seasons ago?

Either way you cant have Robson and Miller on the bench - they never played in the same team.

If you are talking about last season Sammy should be in place of Miller.

    '95 Cup-winning side:

    Starting 11

Bonner, Vata, Boyd, McNally, McKinley, McLaughlin, Grant, Maestro, Collins, Donnelly, Van Hoojidonk.

    O'Donnell and Falconer were subs.

My first Cup Final. I mind me and a few of my mates being in tears at full time!

Last season mate. Maybe I'm not being clear though, just the players who you think were the mnainstays of that season. They don't need to have played together if you don't want to.

And if you do, that's fine too. I just want to see some of the old names up here and stir some memories..:shamrock:

I've an more-than-rough idea it's probably the "stop 10-IAR" side.

But I couldn't offhand remember the year it was.

    Sorry:notworthy :50:

Some great memories here lads. Keep it up!

Even to see that team in '74, laid out by someone who has seen them live, is terribly exciting to me.

Can you tell us something about one of the lesser known players in that team mate? :shamrock:
