Get your head out of the sand and wake up. :bbpd:

Strachan is utterly inept, and has gradually been found out.

    Caldwell in midfield. ???
continuing to play JVOH and Samaras ???
    no tactics
    no plan B
    no idea

    Wrong wrong and wrong.

Caldwell is a quality player, perhaps one of our best at the club. He is a brave defender with good positional play but more importanly is great with the ball at his feet out of defence. Hence him getting put in front of the defence in the Makelele role.

JVoH is a big game player - that's a fact. Should I remind you of the last minute hun goal last year and the Man United game? Samaras is our top scorer this year so again this is a no-brainer. Sure they are not scoring but what would you suggest? Hutchison? :56:

No tactics/plan B? If you havent noticed 4-3-3 *IS* a plan B. We have been playing 4-4-2 for about 4 seasons now so you are utterly wrong.

As I mentioned in a previous post we are equal on points and traditionally we end the season well. This should be the end of our annual * period and Strachan deserves to be given faith by the fans to lead us to 4 in a row.

Playing away on a * pitch against one of the tougher SPL sides we restricted them to one shout, albeit one goal.

Had we taken our chances the game would have been comfortable so surely Strachan got his tactics spot-on? It's the confidence of the strikers that is lacking and is by no means something Strachan can fix with a magic wand.

Oh and how many games as JVoH started this season? How many of them could he be said to have been 100%? Not very many I suspect.

It was 2 goals not 3 :bbpd:

He has started 12 games this season and 7 came on as sub, yeah a real big game player mate :celt_2:

have waited a long time since sunday before posting anything. i have consistantly backed strachan but i have to say that i am fast running out of patience. the football we have been playing has been dire for months, can any of you honestly say you have enjoyed watching us play since probably about november? or recent record is 3 wins in ten games, given the resources for each club/manager is this really any better than the 7 games without a win for which brewster was sacked earlier in the season? i'm not saying that it justifies sacking strachan but it certainly justifies the support to be discussing the topic in my opinion. some of the team selections have been truly baffling, crosas to me the most accomplished midfielder at the club sitting on the bench while the best centre half at the club is playing in midfield. i know the pitch was a state but when you throw on mcgeady you are saying that it is not having as big an effect as thought. crying out for a goal and strikers off form but you don't throw on the guy scoring for fun in the reserves? surely he must be worth a gamble? and if not why is he on the bench, it cant be because he's not good enough or why were killen and sheridan allowed to leave on loan?
the fact is our form over the last few months has been an absolute disgrace and of course the manager is going to be questioned.
i've seen a * of a lot of criticism over his record in transfers, some justified some less so. one i've heard pop up recently is that he has never signed a good player from outwith the spl as both boruc and naka were o'neills signings. yet these same people criticise him for the signing of mo camara, how does that work?
i would however also point out that if you get rid of strachan who do you bring in? our recent spending and transfer policy would suggest that names like moyes or trappatoni that i've seen banded about are never going to happen. roy keane would in my opinion be a terrible appointment. would someone like john hughes be an improvement? if people dont like the football under strachan how will they take to the defensive football we'd play under levein?
my personal hope is that strachan can turn this around, whether or not he can remains to be seen.

The Irishman, the ex-player and the Dutchman. Same lineup almost every single time

O'Leary and Keane aren't good enough, and why would van Gaal even consider leaving AZ to come to the SPL?

    Get real.

Keane and O'Leary are proven misfits in management and niether are better than WGS.

Louis Van Gaal is a no hoper also. There is no way that he'd leave AZ for us.

I personaly would love to see Moyes take over but I am a realist and I know that there is very little chance of that happening.

Why blame strachan when our strikers cant finish. Skippy missed a sitter in the first ten minutes against motherwell, and then big jan missed an easy header. Should leave out samaras, coz he doesnt look like he can be bothered.

You know every professional or ex-pro I have heard discuss the game WGS, Tom Boyd, Lenny and others all think we played well, were clever about the dodgy pitch and were just unlucky. Thats what I thought myself. All this WGS must go stuff is mad. Last year we were 7 points behind. I fully expect recenly injured guys like Crosas, JVOH and Sammy to find their match fitness and provide a good option in the next couple of games and for us to go on a big run. Shame wee Shaun and Robson are out but I think we will get better shortly and show the form of early season again. If we do we will win the league.

far too sensible. You are making the mistake of using your brain here instead of rabidly baying for ginger blood while beating your chest. Thats not allowed.

I think mmmikey's points are fantastic. Everyone knows that 3 wins in 10 is not acceptable but I believe that we have the manager and the squad to turn it around.

O'Neill had left when we signed those two. How are they his signings and not Strachan's?

if you read the sentence after the one you highlighted thats kind of the same point i'm making. the theory apparantly is that it was o'neil who scouted and targetted these players then strachan followed up the interest that the previous manager had. as i said if thats the case, which i don't believe it was, then how can strachan be criticised for scouting mo camara when he was the only one we were actually linked with while o'neil was still in charge.

I think yuo forget Keane got them Promoted from one of the toughest leagues for promotion, got them a good first season performance, then dropped off. But that was not IMO down to bad management, it was down to a poor Scouting network, poor funds, and a bad couple of tranfers.

I would take Keane in a second, he understands Celtic, think about the best performances you have seen from Celtic in the last three years under WGS, the best one for me was against Man U, where Mick, Cladwell and Hartley, (Ithink it was those three) at the edge of the box diving for the ball like their lives depended on it. When you can not afford to buy the best players you need to make up for it with guts, Keane is the kind of guy to do that!

keane had more money to spend at sunderland in one transfer window than strachan has had his entire time here, so if one of the contributing factors to keanes failure was poor funds then no i don't want him at celtic.

its relative, poor funds when you are dealing in a league like the EPL, when he was in the championship, I think he showed he could work on a tight budget.

Keane spent circa £50 million on a team that was already in an un-natural position in the Championship, I wouldn't go anywhere near him until he proved himself.
