There's trouble brewing between the GB and the stewards if this boils over it will be detrimental to the club..

you cant name a song that can be deemed as sectarian, so you move on to add ons ?? Believe me, no one dislikes silly add ons to songs more than me !!

I dont think the likes of the GB have ever been guilty of that.

I was a season ticket holder during the troubles of the early 90's. . .I never stayed away. . .I was an active campaigner in Celts For Change, I was still there week in week out.

Why should the fans stay away, they have the right to express themselves the same way celtic fans have done for generations. . .It is not offensive, sectarian, or any other media type spin you want to use.

i only occasionally post on this site but i usually find it interesting. but i must say that recently i have noticed a few things that i dont like. firstly the way that anyone who says anything negative about gordon strachan is immediately branded a hun or anti celtic. now the green brigade issue. most of the posters on here could be on the board of celtic the way they always support the official line. celtic supporters have always shown support to oppressed minorities, from the nationalist minority in the north of ireland to the palestinian people. why should they stop showing that support now? as for the quote about supporting terrorists, who is to say they are terrorists? where the ANC not terrorists before they became the south african government. were the mujahadin terrorists when they were fighting the russians? i applaud the green brigade for their stand and the guys on here who support them. i only hope they get stronger because the way things are going celtic park will be full of sheep, herded in, told where to sit, how to behave, what they can and cant sing. and most of the people on here will do as theyre told because "the board know what they are doing, have faith". i also have to say that most of the mods and administraters on this site are exactly the people i am talking about. is that how you get to be one? toe the party line? no doubt i'll get blasted for this, but * it, it had to be said. i'm away to read the celtic view now to read some contreversial stuff. good luck green brigade. tiocfaidh ar la!

a great post mate. . .brilliant.

but you cant tar all of the mods with the same brush. . . Some just decide not to comment, probably because they have heard all the arguments time and again. the ignorance of some is starting to do my head in, but I will fight my corner on these issues because I faal it is impotant to Celtic and therefor important to me.

you have made good analogys, and your right . . .Celtic fans have always been involved in political activities, both outside and inside CP

Celtic is a PLC, Celtic Park belongs to the shareholders. The shareholders, of course, being primarily supporters.

A political background that was irrelevent in his appointment as Chairman. Reid, also, is a supporter.

If the supporters wanted this stuff here the shareholders wouldn't be so supportive to a board that wants it removed.

The GB know the rules, those with respect for Celtic follow the rules laid down by Celtic.

I hope not. . .i also think that that is the main reason why Celtic never made any substantial statement on the issue.

The GB should be left alone at the huns game. . .I think a more pressing issue for the powers that be will be what goes on at the other corner of the ground

I dont know if that was the case about the shareholders and the appointment of John Reid. . .I couldnt make the AGM when concerns were raised, but concerns were raised.

I think we will see a wee bit of a different attitude at the next AGM regarding some of these issues. I have already recieved an email on the topic.

Cant even be bothered reading anything anywhere thats pro-anything other than celtic fc, at a celtic game.
Theres a time and a place for that sort of stuff, although it most probably aint the folk who take the flags fight to fight anyway, and even if it was, parkhead when theres a game of fitba on certainly aint the place.

Its a certain type of person that brings that crap to a game with them.
Usually got nowt better to do with their time and think its 'cool' to make a noise about something.
Like the sound of their own voice is probably closer to the mark.

A go to the games and have talked about celtic since a was a wee boy as its a football club. Thats what people should go to the games for.
A like to chat about how we played, Naylors b@ws, the atmosphere was good/pish, etc. Whatevers the case football wise.

I personally aint got a problem with someone taking some sort of political flag to a game. I cant however understand why anyone would want to do that, and if theres any sort of racket relating to their 'beliefs' then it would do ma nut in.

    * off and protest somewhere else thats more appropriate.

not at all. . .I am happy to answer people who question my veiws. . .I would rather that than people just spouting off. . .debate is the only way forward.

I feel that these issues are important to Celtic because they have always been a part of Celtic. The club has always had a predominantly left wing and republican minded support.

This has been diluted over the years, and that might be no bad thimg. The world does move on.

In my veiw however, to try and eradicate this from Celtic, will make us another run of the mill club. We are proud of our traditions, we are proud of our past, and we have never descriminated anyone.

Because the world has closed in on Orangeism and the way Rangers operate, we have been dragged into it. We have nothing to do with it. Our songs and banners are not deroggetary, offensive or sectarian. It is a way for the scottish establishment evening the score. Understadably the Celtic board are pandering to it to a certain extent. In my veiw, however this is the wrong way to go.

We are doing nothing wrong. . .Lets not pander to bullshit anymore.

You'll be taking an Australia flag to the OF to show that you've not forgotten the people who are struggling with the fires?

Next time I'm at a Celtic match, I'll be taking an Israeli flag. We'll see how well that goes down.

im not taking sides here i just have a question, i cant remember th match but it was a recent one.

its was Celtic v Rangers at parkhead, and as i stood in the line to enter th turnstiles at the SW corner, a couple of blokes in front of me were getting their brand new "go home ya huns" scarfs taken from them by the police.

i was just wondering why these scarfs got confiscated?

Apparently the word "HUN" is now a sectarian issue. . .

No one seems to be bothered that it was actually a brittish word to describe anyone who wasnt british. . .Look it up in the dictionary
