I'm so glad the Celtic support are so compliant these days!!!

The point I'm making about John Reid is this.John Reid's political background may offend many supporters, but nobody asked us if we wanted him to be the figurehead of our club.He is associated with many policies in his previous role that where controversial to say the least.Surely appointing someone with his political background could be construed as political an act as a supporter displaying a flag?

Dont you think John Reids appointment may be a buisness decision rather than a political one ?

Wow. Hold up there. First of all, Hezbollah are not a Palestinian group, they are Lebanese and fight israel from Lebanon, not from Palestine. Please explain how flying a country's flag is endorsing terrorist actions committed by a group? If I wanted to show support to those groups, I'd take along a Hezbollah or Hamas flag..

Well i'm sure everyone would like people to behave properly at games and in the way celtic fc would like, no?

John Reid was part of a political group like many many mps...he was not THE decision maker. If fans are genuinely "offened" by his appointment they can show their feelings by staying away...if enough feel the same then thats when the club take notice. Obviously not many fans feel strongly enough to stay away though

I don't know mate z says he has a good reason on flying the flag which he has given a legitimate reason for the GB don't have one.

Whats wrong with a lifelong Celtic fan becoming chairman? Unless he uses his position at Celtic to forward his own political beliefs like the GB then you cannot compare the situations.

You can't be ejected from a match for having the flag of a country.

It has no links to Celtic. I know you can argue if that matters but its obviously not allowed due to the political connotations being drawn from it. Like it or lump it, thats the way.

If you come to celtic park football should be your main concern, not flags.

You can be ejected for less if celtic or strathclyde police say so.

Probably was my old man's influence. But now that I go to games myself, still take the flag.

As for why the GB take Palestine/Basque flags to games, I can't speak for them, although it would probably be to express solidarity with those countries.

The flying of the flag itself is not but in this context and situation that is exactly what you are doing and you know it so stop feigning ignorance. You say you aren't doing this to support terrorists? To quote,

Yeah so why are you arguing on an internet forum about it then, if you listen to your own advice you wouldn't care what flag someone else has, it's not your concern, you're only there for the football.

He obviously cares about the values of the club unlike the flag wavers who are generally confused young boys.

Why do they do it at Celtic Park, though?

i clearly heard "ooh aah up the ra!" being chanted in the second half

i don't think we really need to have that in the stadium anymore

i met two 40 something guys and their father trying to find a seat in the Celtic end at half time and they were amazed at how young the bhoys were in the group.

for the record i admire the effort of trying to create an atmosphere, but some of the chants are not required

police horses are common place at football matches. No real involvement with the crowd.
