Again, another post I agree with :50:

This sort of thing brings nothing but negative headlines for our club, and tarnished ALL Celtic fans, even thought its a small minority inside the stadium taking part.

Like I said in my earlier post, there are places to express political opinions, football stadiums are not one of them.

Zeyn; tell the GB when in Celtic Park, they are there to support Celtic.

The thing that irks me the most about them is they only believe their politics to be edgy and attract controversy, then they cry and wail when people respond negatively.

It happened. Mounted police gathered at the corner of the North Stand ordering people to disperse. A chant of "Fans, not Criminals" went up and around 5 police with horses galloped at around 200 people, foing them to disperse.

A Basque flag or a Palestinian flag is not the flag of a political organisation, the same way a Saltire is not an endorsement of the SNP.

The club is not run with a political agenda.

You really are clutching at straws with that one. I have a Saltire in my house because I am Scottish.

Were all the people waving Basque and Palestinian flags at the game either Basque or Palestinian?

I would hazard a guess and say no.

So did they bring them because they like their colours?

    Errrrrrr, probably not.

So did they bring them to promote the cause of Basque independence, and for freedom for Gaza?

Methinks yes, although I am assuming a level of intelligence which would allow them to point to the Basque region in Spain and/or the Gaza strip on a map.

To quote what the rule you brought up against people bringing these flags into CP: (remember this is the quote you used when going against people bringing those flags in)
The promotion or endorsement of any political organisation..

The flag of the Basque country or Palestine is not the flag of a political organisation, you glossed over that in your reply...

Now where does it say you cannot bring in the flag of another nation..
After my Palestine flag was confiscated from me at Celtic Park a few months ago, I wrote to Celtic asking why, and got an e-mailed apology saying it wasn't illegal to fly any nation's flag at CP..

Why shouldnt they? How do celtic know that its not someone from basque or Palestine bringing it in?

You see tricolours, spanish flags all over Premiership grounds, I seen an african flag in a premiership game before.

if they confiscate a palestine surely theyd have to confiscate tri colours and saltires?

I'll answer that from a personal point of view because I take my Palestine flag to some games. I fly my flag to show hat I have not forgotten the people of Palestine and their daily struggle. One of the woman, Margaret, who works for the GPHRC who I sometimes volunteer for regularly goes to Palestine and told me about a time she was in Palestine talking to the kids about football and how they perked up at the mention of "Glasgow Celtic" - they'd seen highlights of us during a Cl game and said it amazed them that a team halfway around the world would fly their flag. I hope by waving mine, it can raise awareness, send a message to the people of Palestine and hsow my solidarity with Palestine..
