the arguement of true or false could go on forever haha, I think it could be possible that its true, but just as likely to be false, however, with or without the socks, rangers football club and ther fans are still scum :)

When I first watched Rancid, I was told by older Celtic supporters that their kit was representing the colours of the union jack.
It is possible the other rubbish was added later by sum half intelegent hun.

Wether the sock design had this meaning originally intended, is something very difficult to prove.

The fact that fans & even some players have attatched the significance is real, I'm fairly certain some players (Kris Boyd?) have left the sock fully extended, instead of folding it over - therby having the red bit fully up at their knees.

I think the same could be said of the players folding the red bit in, or wearing the socks at their ankles.

So, aye, I think that some players think it's true & a lot of the fans do too, so it's real.

:50: I'd personally say aye, it's a myth - but some of the fannies believe it, so it then becomes real, wether the meaning was originally intended or not.

    If that makes sense?:97:

Makes perfect sense to me. As soon as it was mentioned, whenever that was, folk on both sides would have wanted to believe it anyway, meant by the manufacturers or not. The huns would love there hero's to be wearing that symbol on there socks as a get it up yeez. And for tims, it being real gives us more ammo to point the Scotlands Shame finger.

i read that the huns only started all this sectarian crap in the 30s when all the orange men from Northern Ireland came over to scotland and associated themselves with rangers. Before this the huns were not a sectarian club, and indeed, in the early days had close links with celtic in many aspects.

    Correctamundo!

The next thing becomes the club's agenda, now that the meaning/significance HAS become attatched.

Do the club, take the sectarian undertones away from the club (in this regard, they can) as they say they want to, by changing the socks.

Or do they leave them to be (mis)interpreted in a sectarian manner?

Theres no pressing need for them to change the socks so they wont and they certainly will not admit to there being a single amount of truth in it.

Doesn't change the fact of the hun dad buying his wean the new kit and tellin him 'remember son, socks rite up tae the knees' :87:
    I would imagine its commonplace.

I'am fully acceptant on the fact that I may be wrong sometimes. If you want to beleive that there is no underlying reson for the way the Rangers' socks are mate that is entirely up to you. And fair play to you for trying hard to see the good in people.

Unfortunately that is not my opinion. As I said in a previous, post, the sectarianism that within Rangers FC runs even deeper than most people think.

Rangers kit manufacturers probably do not have a clue what the socks represent. They will just be given a specification of what the traditional home colours are.

You will notice that I dont go in for all the Amorosu and Negri theories. I fail to see what Everton has to with anything. And if your trying to tell me the Rangers socks match the rest of the strip you are certailny no Gok Wan :icon_mrgreen:

If in doing their own thing they directly or indirectly offend or upset our support as is the case in this issue then surely our forums are where it will be discussed. If you don't like threads about the huns don't post in them, others will and will always do so.

If its being discussed the huns will see it and know it is annoying us, so they will keep doing it, Have you seen the arguments on Youtube? its known that a Celtic fan puts a big paragraph about Rangers being bigoted, hated, when the blue nose just replies back BJK, they only need a sentence or less to annoy us, it usually works i see it quite alot !

Indeed, and in FourFourTwo, it also said it was a myth.
