you maybe right Dempsey, but that doesnt sit comfortably with me.

As i said, the last thing I want is for anyone to rock the boat, but if the big guy has a story to tell, let him tell it. If he is wrong it will be put to bed.

If his points are valid then surely we should know about it, no ?

Sponging? He`s fit and available for selection.Problem is we have decided to cut our cloth accordingly and it`s been decided that Bobo must be sacrificed. I`d love to see his wages freed up to finance another signing/wage but the problem is he`s decided not to move thus far which is fine by me - HE`S HONOURING HIS CONTRACT! IMO he should be in the team(think the 4 goals we lost at Pittodrie last week and ask yourself if he was in team would that have happened?). His win bonus - not that he`d be getting many lately - must be something special and his basic wage considerably less than what`s been reported. Why else would you let your best ball-winning,most agressive cente-half rot in the resrves when you`re shipping goals at an alarming rate and recently from simple high balls into the box which are meat and drink to him? Hail!Hail!

Absence makes the heart grow fonder I'm afraid. Can you honestly say your heart hasn't been in your mouth when we've had to rely on Bobo making a challenge?
He will play no further part in the first team except in the direst of circumstances, we need to accept this and look forward.

Because he's * as every other aspect of the game?

He put money before his career. He knew his future plans under GS and had several good offers with other clubs for similar pay but wanted the money more at Celtic and play in the reserves. Its undefendable

We only conceded one goal from free kicks before last weekend so it wasnt an ongoing problem in our play.

i agree with beechmount's sentiments in a lot of ways, then i think about the blow ups big Bobo has made over the years and think, * me he was a liability at times.

Absence probably does make the heart grow fonder, and thats a very good quote in the context of this debate. As I argued with Tamster on another thread, we have the two best central defenders in Scotland by a country mile. Bobo may even be the third best tbh.

I think however this is not about bobo's ability or willingness to play. This runs deeper, and I cant help but think the guy feels a sense of injustice and should be allowed to say his peice. At least then we can make our minds up on the matter.

I do accept this. The thing that i won`t accept is that a loyal servant of the club who isnn`t far away from entitlement to a testimonial, is being hung out to dry through no fault of his own.And yes, Bobo has probably reduced my life expectancy due to the scares he`s given me through the years - mainly when he`s bored to tears, we`re 5-0 up, and he decides on a wee dribble from his own box.The thing is, it`s been a while from we were 5-0 up,our defence is slow, lacks positional sense, leadership and ability. What i like about Bobo is that he does what a defender should do first and foremost -DEFEND! Hail!Hail!

He's no good with the football at his feet and that isnt good for possession football, his lack of ability with this aspect isnt his fault?

No, if thats the case, he has no interest in Celtic FC, just himself, his pocket and his own ego.

I have no time for any person that thinks he's bigger than Celtic FC

I did state "recent problem". I was aware of that stat - unusual for me, i know, when you and i go head to head. That said, that now makes 5 in total fom set pieces. But this term does not include high balls in open play. Lies,* lies and statistics...............fact is one decent high ball, even from opposition central defence, poses us serious - too serious- problems IMO.Bobo, like him or not, lost little aerially and had the pace to recover if he did. Can you say the same of the current incumbents of the centre-half positions?HailHail?

He * up at every other aspect of the game though. Do you think that teams would mindlessly pump ball up like that if we have a very strong aerial defender like that?

NO, of course not. They'd go for his weakness, every other aspect of his game. run at him, draw him out, close him down, even jumping with him often concedes a foul and this happened in his prime, he's well past that now.

Sorry Dempsey i thought you and rosario had said that about the confidentiality clause.

this has kinda turned out to me championing Bobo's case which was really not my intention at all.

i am only saying that I think the big man may be getting a raw deal in some quarters, maybe not though.

I personally am going to reserve judgement till I hear what bobo has to say on the matter.

No,i don`t think teams would mindlessly pump balls up like that if we have a strong aerial defender like that. But,we don`t have and teams do - to our cost week in,week out. His weakness? Draw him out, close him down, run at him, jump and he concedes a foul? Are you talking about Bobo or Caldwell/McManus?Please watch again Aberdeen v Us and Us v Dundee Utd this month. Hail!Hail!

Newcastle may make a surprise move for Celtic defender Bobo Balde, who is out of contract at the end of the season. (The Herald)

Joe kinnear is a tool man. he wanted to sign Nigel Quashie because he would help newcastle avoid relegation :56:

I think you might has gotten my support for Bobo wrong in that I support him more than the club. Far from it, I am just not happy with the way it has all been handled. It is a worry to me to be honest. I for one will be happy when he goes as it will free up wages. However it has to be in the best interest of all parties.

The player isnt good enough coupled with the fact that he's on high wages

Many clubs want out players when they change a regime and/or transfer & budget policies. Everyone except Bobo, accepted this and left when the opportunity came up except for Bobo.

Bobo agreed to leave Celtic during the summer if a fair offer came in. When they came in, he did use excuse after excuse to not agree terms. He was deceitful
