Celtic have apparently continued to add to their development squad, signing 18 year old Canadian U19 international Emile Legault on a 3 year deal.

Most recently played RB for the AJ Auxerre U19 team, formerly a youth with the Montreal Impact. I don’t know anything about this player, and it seems this signing has blown over everyone, and was just recently noticed by members of the Montreal CSC.

Fun for fan’s out here in Canada to have signed someone from our own backyard, even if it is a development signing. Hopefully more information comes out about it soon.

Was recently on the bench for our U19’s as they beat Manchester United. 31055DBE-8886-49C2-8E6F-8602FA6CDEF1.jpeg

(Left side, he’s to the right of Jack Aitchison, beside the Anthony Bourdain knockoff *RIP).

Happy with this, we should only be signing French * or ones that sound French. It works , can't remember a bad one since Stephane Bonnes. Should be a signing policy that we adopt, probably mildly racist to only sign French or French sounding but * it. Broony should be forced to change his name to Scott Marron (French for brown)

Auxerre Academy has a brilliant rep. Or at least it did.

    Good name too.

Always difficult to judge a player from YouTube but first impressions are good.

Great to see a player who's head is up looking at the play while he's got the ball. Got decent control, can see a pass and looks like he knows how to use his strength well.

I agree with @TheHappyLoss we should change our Academy name to the Auld Alliance and Celtic FC would mean French Connection :fear:

:56: This is the Anthony Bourdain lookalike Gerry Armstrong. A cult legend in NI football circles for scoring the winning goal for NI to knock Spain out of the World Cup 82 in their own country. Was from the falls road west Belfast and originally a big GAA man. But the NI fans don’t like to mention that. He had a decent playing career in Spain ironically after that.

So apparently he hasn’t signed for us after all? Celtic have pulled out of the deal by the looks of it.

The latest in a long line of abysmal efforts these * need their baws booted for.

I genuinely feel confident we could ask an alkie off the street to come in as head scout and let him randomnly pick players to sign and they'd be better than Mongerton's attempts.

Aye I just fail to see how this could have happened surely to * when a player is recommended/watched by us (or any team) they have some kind of information gathering sheet ie Position played, age, nationality etc etc by doing this that would allow for us to either know or have to find out if a work permit would be needed right from the start/early on. (They better get their finger out and know what happens from next March).

He could still sign a contract and they could sort the permit later, I wouldn't imagine a Canadian would struggle for a permit.

I would have thought someone from a commonwealth country would get one * easy, especially when they have a job to go to.
